Offering an authentic-meets-contemporary dining experience, Sen Nin Japanese Teppenyaki and Sushi restaurant brings authentic cuisine to Camden. Step beyond the grandeur of the Victorian exterior into the main restaurant, which is filled with sizzling cooking stations manned by the resident chefs.

Guests sit around a large teppan at Sen Nin Camden, where main courses are cooked for a theatrical touch. Sample some of the wide selection of sushi and sashimi, along with hot starters such as gyoza, before watching the chef’s performance-cooking of your choice of meat or fish. Options on the Sen Nin menu vary from salmon teriyaki and hibachi lamb, to the specialities of black cod, lobster, or wagyu steak.

The choice of hot or cold sake proves a popular accompaniment to the food, alongside a selection of cocktails and other drinks. Sushi making workshops can also be arranged for an immersive experience at Sin Nin restaurant.

What a disaster! We were kept waiting for an hour before a very inexperienced chef appeared. He cooked our rice, then the fish. Those who had ordered prawns were handed three each! My partner had ordered the blackened cod and was given under 2 oz or 50g for his main course. The steak and chicken were cooked together, the raw chicken being handled with the same utensils that were used for the medium rare steak, is this not dangerous? I have never seen that in a Tepanyaki restaurant before. As the chicken was passed to a party on the table next to us, they mentioned they had been waiting for it for 2 hours.
One person had ordered his steak well done, all 20 g of which were handed to him aftersitting on the Tepanyaki table for 15 minutes - burnt and dried up.
Everyone in the restaurant was complaining by this time and we were told they were understaffed because it was Easter. In order to put things right, a more experienced chef came out and cooked eight prawns in order to give me the right amount due to me and more steak for those who had ordered steak. However the ration of cod was not added to and at £35 this seemed miserly. The new chef finally also cooked the vegetables to go with our menus, despite our already having finished our food.
We were offered complimentary drinks to make up for everything else, which we however declined. Instead we said we would only pay for half the final bill, as we had only received what seemed like half after a very long wait.
All in all, there were about 30 people in the restaurant, I doubt whether any of us will ever return.

Booked a table with an offer. No booking on arrival and no knowledge of offer. Still had a great meal, chef was excellent but the place wasn't as clean as you'd wish it to be.

Good food for a decent price, fantastic show by the chefs. Seems to be popular with a party/birthday crowd, which makes it festive but also quite loud.

The restaurant was not up to the standard I was expecting. When booking through bookatable I got used to discovering pretty amazing places. This was just an average Japanese restaurant, slightly overpriced. Service was not great either.
