Situated somewhat outside of Dettenheim, directly on the idyllic riverside of the quarry pond, you will find the restaurant Seeterrasse Standkorb Giesen, run by Frank Metzger and Jana Kühne-Metzger.
On the menu you will come across quality Mediterranean cuisine, prepared with attention to real quality and seasonal fresh produce. Jana Kühne-Metzger cooks with, amongst other things, golden trout, North Sea Dover sole, Wagyu beef from Nebraska and Iberian pork from Spain.
'Quick and small' is the motto of the weekly changing lunchtime menu, which contains small, yet fine treats. Whether you opt for fish, meat, or a vegetarian option, there is a rich variety available of the menu which offers something for every taste and if possible, staff will happily take orders for anything that you can't find on the menu.
Frank Metzger and his wife place great value on having an informal atmosphere in their restaurant. For younger guests of the Seeterrasse Strandkorb Giesen, there is a games corner and the idyllic surrounding countryside in Giesen lends itself perfectly to walks and day trips to Dettenheim.
