The food was delicious but served luke-warm. Quite over-priced for the portion size. We left feeling hungry. Surprisingly small selection of wines by the glass.

Food was excellent. All the staff were very pleasant and very helpful, as every one in the hotel was.We were originally shown to a table to side of main restaurant, but it was very dark,so asked to be moved into main bit,(we were told they were going to be extending it so not worth putting more lighting in ) The waitress was brilliant, put 2 tables together for us without a fuss. Really enjoyed it.

Fabulous service, even though the waitress wasn't expecting us (I booked on 'Bookatable' on the day an hour before arrival) she accommodated us without fuss apologising that she was on her own and had a large party so the service may be a little slow - it wasn't. The food was delicious and plentiful. very good value for money.

When we arrived at the confirmed time of 11am for our Mother's Day breakfast, we were told that breakfast finished at 11am and the seasons restaurant was closed while they were getting ready for lunch. They offered to let us have breakfast but this would have to be in the bar area/coffee area where obviously, the chaos and tables are too low to comfortably sit and eat a meal The whole experience was disastrous as we didn't bother with breakfast as was totally unacceptable. A bad experience and I would like to find out why this happened. It ruined our Mother's Day

To be honest I was very disappointed as I was sent the menu for that date i had booked and asked as it was on the 30th November I did not want to turn up and it was the Christmas menu but they assured me that the Christmas menu started on the 1st and attached a menu that looked lovely, so when I arrived to find the Christmas menu I was very cross to say the least as it was for my husbands 50th birthday. anyway after deciding on our food my son's potatoes roast potatoes were rock hard and all of the food was over salted so not impressed at all. i will say the waitress was so embarrassed and did her best to keep us happy, so I will not be recommending this restaurant unfortunately

The food was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. The restaurant was lovely. A beautiful setting and ambience. The cheesecake for dessert was literally a work of art! All presented perfectly and looking very posh indeed!

Afternoon tea was delightful, choice of different tea flavours are great, recommend The Lady flavour. Yummy selection of sandwiches and cakes. 2nd time I've been there for tea.

Seasons is a new restaurant in a hotel we've been to often over the years, but this was easily the best dining experience we've had there. The restaurant itself is very well laid out, the menu choices were really varied and unusual in the main, and the food quality was excellent. I had a seared mackerel starter and a slow cooked duck egg with pearl barley main and both were of the highest quality when compared to the vast majority of restaurants I've been to. And the coffee and chocolate dessert was totally delicious. Added to that, service was quiet, efficient and unobtrusive. All in all, a perfect evening. The only small improvement I could think of was that the only purely vegetarian starter was a caprese salad, which seemed a little limited (although I'm confident it would have been done to a very high standard. We had booked on a deal to try the restaurant out so had champagne provided - and this too was of good quality. The wine and drinks list, however, looked very thorough and I particularly liked that some premium wines were available to try in taster sizes of as little as 50ml. Brilliant idea! It is also worth noting that the hotel had a wedding party going on with a very loud disco while we were eating, but we only heard anything when we left the restaurant, so clearly the sound proofing is top notch as well.

Afternoon tea here was delightful, the food and service was excellent and the selection of teas are fantastic. I treated my best friend to a birthday treat and she was just as chuffed as I was to the whole experience. I will be coming back here again with my Mum for my birthday in a couple of weeks as I know she will love it just as much. The decor has been completely changed since I last came here for a Christmas party a few years ago and it is much nicer and more in keeping with the period style of the house.
