Restaurant description

There are few spots on the London landscape as striking as Searcys at The Gherkin, where HELIX restaurant and IRIS bar are open to the public for the first time. A proud celebration of British produce in one of London’s finest landmarks, the menus put seasonal and local produce centre stage, all while enjoying panoramic views from the top 3 levels of one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers.

The HELIX restaurant menu is led by seasonal and local produce. Highlights include Dorset crab with grapefruit, soy and sesame, and Rhug Estate Welsh lamb with bell peppers, aubergine, courgette, pepper and pine nuts.

Perched above Helix on level 40 is Iris bar, offering 360° views an extensive cocktail menu as unique as the setting. As well as cocktails which pay homage to the city below, an exquisite selection of champagne and English sparkling wine is also served.

One of London ’s most desirable dining experiences, Helix restaurant in The Gherkin is found 5 minutes’ walk from Aldgate Tube Station.

I dined her with my sister first time for us both and we were not disappointed. The food was tasteful, filling and pleasing on the eye and the tastebuds. Ther service was of a high standard and we made to feel very welcome. The views were breathtaking and the whole ambience was thoroughly enjoyable.

Excellent service and very good food with a good choice of menu. Wine list extensive so there would be something there for everyone's taste and pocket. Views are great but even better if you look from the 40th floor where the bar is, bit more expensive than we would normally pay for a lunch out but this was a good chance to go up The Gherkin so well worth it for a one off

Not a good experience. Food was average at best. Service was terrible. Had requested vegetarian and had written that it was my dad's 65th but they did not acknowledge any of my requests. Will not recommend to anyone especially as there are places with better views, excellent food and service. Very dissapointed especially as it was for a special day.

We had a fantastic and relaxed lunch, particularly after the hassle of finding parking. We did not feel rushed and the food was really good both to taste and in presentation. The service was good and attentive although it did take a long time to get ice.

Had a brilliant time - the food was lovely and the views fantastic - a really special day. The only downside for me was the cost of having additional wine with the meal which was I felt very expensive.
