Boasting extraordinary views of London from its 39th-floor setting, Searcys at the Gherkin's 360-degree glass walls allow for uninterrupted city panoramas. Designed by Lord Foster and rising 180 metres above the capital, Searcys sits in one of the world's most striking buildings.

The refined Gherkin a la carte menu offers beautifully prepared dishes in a stunning, calm and luxurious setting. Sample signature Searcys favourites like sea bream with brown shrimp, or Gressingham duck breast with raspberry.

One of London’s most desirable dining experiences, Searcys at The Gherkin is found 5 minutes’ walk from Aldgate Tube Station. Please note, Searcys at The Gherkin requires each guest to present a form of ID when visiting the restaurant.

The Gherkin is a beautiful building with a stunning view, but its a shame the food wasn’t up to scratch.
Crab starter was tasteless and feather blade beef main was just about ok (it has a strange aftertaste). Cheese course was by far the best, but the all they had to do was select it and unwrap it! Bottle of chateauneuf was not at all good and left feeling that I got very little in the way of taste for £250. Will not be returning as there are 100’s of better restaurants in London.

The top of the Gherkin is an incredible space architecturally, however it is a real shame that the food doesn't match up. It's simply very low quality for the price.

One main course was sea bass, which was very ordinary. The beurre noir sauce was like a thick sweet treacle, and didn't go well at all with the fish. Our other main course was vegetarian mushroom tart, which was simply ridiculous. It was literally a piece of puff pastry with 3 slices of mushroom on top.

We are not food snobs and are just as happy eating in a local pub as a fine dining restaurant. Sadly, the food here was very poor and I couldn't recommend it. If you want to experience the top of the Gherkin then you are better just going to the top floor for drinks.

Grand building in the heart of the City of London
Security need ID but then the arrival is fine
    Professional service
    Excellent set menu for lunch
    Spectacular views, especially at sunset
Lots of building work right outside the windows but this added to the fun for myself and my husband - watching the cranes lift steel
    Tasty, well cooked food
    Good sized portions
Delicious cocktail as part of the set meal deal
    Overall, a very enjoyable experience

Table by the window looking towards tower bridge and the river helped to make this s super dining experience. We liked the extra touch of having coffee upstairs afterwards - made it relaxing and more superb views. We loved the flower displays especially in the lounge. By the way, we loved the food too!

Overall a good experience - great location with the option to finish off dinner with drinks at the top bar. Food was good; reasonable value for money.

The view was spectacular, and we were lucky to be sat by the windows. We'd gone with very high expectations, based on our previous meal there, but to be honest we were a little disappointed this time. The food was nice, but the portions small, with a limited choice on the fixed menu. The service was pacey, rather than attentive. Barely had we ordered, when the food was brought out. As a result, we felt pressured throughout the meal, culminating in being told to leave at the end as there were people apparently waiting.

The set menu allowed sufficient choice, the food was beautifully presented and tasted great. Service was really good and the views were amazing. We particularly appreciated being invited to take tea and coffee in the bar upstairs which extended our enjoyment of the whole experience.
