We booked for 1pm Sunday as we have previously enjoyed a lovely 3 course Sunday Lunch buffet at the Swansea Marriott but on arrival was horrified to be the only table eating in the large open plan bar/restaurant/foyer of the hotel throughout the hour and a bit that we were there. Whilst we do like a little bit of peace and quiet when eating away from hoards of uncontrolled screaming children, we do like to be amongst other diners, so as you can imagine we felt very conspicuous and did not wish to linger as we could see the waitress in the bar area watching us all the time. Quite uncomfortable. Regarding the food, there was nothing on the Marriott website to suggest that there was no actual choice of meats for Sunday Lunch. It was Roast Pork or nothing. Despite being told by the waitress that the vegetables would be served as a side dish to the table rather than a help yourself buffet, it actually arrived plated complete with a tablespoonful of sliced carrots and a couple of broccoli florets each. ( My guest dislikes broccoli and would have preferred not to have had it on his plate in the first place.) Bizarrely a huge side dish of cauliflower cheese arrived which we felt completely overwhelmed and outnumbered the other vegetables. We had to waste half of eat and I really abhor being wasteful with food. There was no crackling or stuffing which is the usual accompaniment to pork and we even had to ask for apple sauce. If we wanted to have dessert we had to choose from the 'bar menu' only as there was no restaurant choice for lunch.

My family had rump steak with chips, mushroom and tomato and it was beautiful. We also had the chocolate mouse with shortbread biscuit and ice cream sundae.
