The biggest of Helsinki's Nepalese restaurants, Satkar is located in the city centre, just opposite Tennispalatsi so is in an ideal spot for a meal after a museum or cinema visit.
'Satkar' is Nepali for hospitality and serving good food, a name the restaurant easily lives up to. The traditionally Nepalese menu is very versatile, featuring dishes like Saag Kukhuro - tender pieces of chicken in a perfectly balanced sauce with soft spinach and tangy ginger. Main courses on the lunch menu all come with aromatic basmati rice, freshly-baked naan bread, bean sauce, and a refreshing yoghurt raita. The wine list has a suitable option for each dish on the à la carte menu.
With its high ceilings, Satkar's interior has a very open and spacious feel, while the dark red furniture adds a low-key yet stylish ambience.
Centrally located, Satkar is just a 1-minute walk from Helsinki's Kamppi Metro station and Kamppi shopping centre.
