Filled with gold, elegant drapes and theatre memorabilia, Sarastro is an iconic restaurant for lovers of opera and London's West End. Housed in a Grade-II listed building, the menu spans the Mediterranean, and on selected evenings there are live music events ranging from Motown to a string quartet.

From Italian classics to exotic Turkish delicacies, the Sarastro menu captures the very best of the Mediterranean. To start, there are mezze options that are perfect to share, and mini lamb shish that are wonderfully juicy. Fresh seafood includes Dover sole with new potatoes and asparagus, and the veal chop with garlic confit and port jus is a hugely popular choice. There are sumptuous vegetarian options also featured, and gourmet salads for those wanting a lighter meal.

There are all kinds of sweet treats to finish with at Sarastro in Covent Garden. A signature crème brûlée comes infused with Turkish raki, and the wine list includes fine vintages from the old and new worlds.

An iconic restaurant in London that is perfect for theatre goers, Sarastro sits moments from famed theatres and entertainment attractions of the area. Covent Garden Tube Station is just a 5-minute walk away.

Sarastro is a fun and joyful place. It's a place you go for the experience, hopefully on a night with entertainment (but still lovely without). It's bold, colorful and friendly. The food is good, the wine is ok, but that's not why you go to a place like this. Just remember, its perfect for families, but make sure the younger ones use the under 16 bathroom. There is a reason ;).

We finished our trip to London for my wife's 60 th birthday at the Sarastro. It was a memorable event at a memorable location. This was a unique dining experience that we will never forget. The lavishly decorated restaurant hits you as you walk in from Drury Lane.We were shown to one of the boxes above th e main floor of the restaurant. We had booked for the lunch to coincide with the with the show that started at 2.30 pm.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff of the restaurant, who were delightful and the all food was delicious. The entertainment was brilliant starting with a string quartet and followed by two opera singers. We laughed the afternoon away. This was an occasion we wanted to remember for the rest of our lives....we were not disappointedThis was an experience that surpassed all our expectations. The next time we visit London we are sure to book again.

Food was very good but it would have been nice to have some live music earlier than 8pm.

great atmosphere and crazy decor. Food is good but not excellent, so think relaxed format and reasonable value. Entertainment was the 70 and 80 eve, so think Carol King and the Carpenters. In short, everyone was singing along and having good fun.

First time and found the staff very friendly and attentive. The decor was very quirky and never been in a restaurant like it! Then food was good and presented very well. Only disappointment was not being able to be seated on the balcony.
