A chic pop-up dining hotspot in London, Sanderson showcases eclectic international indulgences in a year-round summery setting. At the luxurious 5-star Sanderson Hotel, the buzzing Long Bar and the exquisite Courtyard Garden bar serve up fresh, exotic cocktails whilst the Mad Hatter's Tea Party at Sanderson offers a unique twist on the classic afternoon tea.
Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, menus are hidden inside vintage books, kings and queens adorn teapots and sandwich plates decorated with zebras, birdcages and ticking clocks.
The Mad Hatters afternoon tea menu features delectable savoury bites, including smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese, and melt-in-your-mouth King of Hearts parmesan croque-monsieur stack.
Completing the experience, come face to face with Tweedle Dee’s lemon and curd financier before enjoying the mocha chessboard gateau and with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be late for this important date! Wash everything down with Alice’s exotic fruits “Drink Me” potion and for the afternoon tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones clotted cream and fruit preserves.
Diverse flavours and eclectic recipes make Sanderson in Fitzrovia a favourite in London’s fashionable West End. Goodge Street Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

I treated my mother and daughter to afternoon tea at the Sanderson on a recent trip to London. What a wonderful experience. We were seated outside in the fabulous garden area. The selection of teas and cakes was more than enough to satisfy even the biggest appetite. I really liked the quirky take on afternoon tea and felt very suitably spoiled for a lovely afternoon. We never felt rushed at all and would highly recommend it to people of all ages.

In a word...... amazing! Like living out a childhood dream, unlike any afternoon tea I’d been to before. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you!

The afternoon tea was lovely with some great nods at Alice in Wonderland. The sandwiches and cakes were good but not as good as you would think for the price. The staff were perfect.

The afternoon tea was adorably perfect, from the decoration to the food. My friends and I enjoyed the savoury treats in particular as well as the tea! The staff were very lovely and helped make my friends birthdays wonderful!

The space was set out nicely. It is a shame that not all wanting the mad hatters tea can be seated in the garden area as that is much more special. The tea was lovely - staff explained all choices and we're quite attentive (they were very busy so you did need to grab hem when you could and they were happy to assist) the cakes were very cute and created in the image of the theme. All in all we had a lovely time.

This was a really lovely afternoon tea. The attention to detail was perfect and the staff were attentive, polite, knowledgable and very friendly. The sandwiches were really lovely as they had been lightly toasted and the cakes, scones and other touches were delicious. There was a good selection of teas and you were able to smell the leaves before choosing. The whole atmosphere in the courtyard was exceptional with the fountains and flamingoes and the beautiful rose chair. This is one of the best afternoon teas I have had.
