A chic pop-up dining hotspot in London, Sanderson showcases eclectic international indulgences in a year-round summery setting. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party at Sanderson offers a unique twist on the classic afternoon tea.
Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, menus are hidden inside vintage books, kings and queens adorn teapots and sandwich plates decorated with zebras, birdcages and ticking clocks.
The Mad Hatters afternoon tea menu features delectable savoury bites, including smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese, and melt-in-your-mouth King of Hearts ham and parmesan croque-monsieur stack.
Completing the experience, come face to face with Tweedle Dee’s lemon and curd financier before enjoying the mocha chessboard gateau and with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be late for this important date! Wash everything down with Alice-themed cocktails and for the afternoon tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones clotted cream and fruit preserves.
Diverse flavours and eclectic recipes make Sanderson in Fitzrovia a favourite in London’s fashionable West End. Goodge Street Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

The staff were very friendly, however I thought the actual experience was a little flat. Tables too close, felt squashed in. They did bring an extra little cake with Happy Birthday written on the plate, but the table next to us had a candle which we didn’t. Not overly fun, and was overcharged which I had the embarrassment of rectifying on my daughters birthday treat.

Had an amazing afternoon tea experience with my mother. The cakes all fit into the Alice in Wonderland theme and it was all enchanting. The savouries were outstanding and the tea we selected 'Alice' was the best tea I've ever had. Service was great and our hostess was incredibly polite and helpful.
We didn't like all of the cakes that were offered but that's more about personal taste than a reflection on the quality. And there was plenty to eat! We were both happy and stuffed as we walked out of there.

Although at the pricier end of the scale this afternoon did not dissapoint.. service was fantastic, they catered to out allergies with no issues on the day, the food was detailed and tasty.. beautiful settings and could not fault it! Did not feel rushed at all as was unlimited hot drinks.. we left absolutely stuffed as there were scones as well!

Took my god-daughters for a Birthday treat and it was fabulous. The setting is lovely; the staff attentive and pleasant and the attention to detail is amazing. Delicious savouries, scones, jam and cream plus lots of sweet treats made for a memorable afternoon. Oh and the cocktails aren’t bad either!!

No air conditioning on a hot summer day so impossible to actually drink tea.
Good sweets. Sandwiches quite bad

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea! We really liked the cheese and ham sandwiches and the crab roll! However way too many cakes for us to finished, but they did allow us to take some away!

We were lucky to be sat in the courtyard which was wonderful. Service was attentive without being overbearing (staff were young & enthusiastic). The food was incredible! Our favourites were the Quail scotch egg and timepiece macarons but it was all very fresh and looked & tasted amazing. Would highly recommend this as a special treat for anyone!
