A chic pop-up dining hotspot in London, Sanderson showcases eclectic international indulgences in a year-round summery setting. At the luxurious 5-star Sanderson Hotel, the buzzing Long Bar and the exquisite courtyard garden bar serve up fresh, exotic cocktails whilst the Mad Hatter's Tea Party at Sanderson offers a unique twist on the classic afternoon tea.

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, menus are hidden inside vintage book, kings and queens adorn teapots and sandwich plates decorated with zebras, birdcages and ticking clocks.

The Mad Hatters afternoon tea menu features delectable savoury bites, including smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese, and melt-in-your-mouth King of Hearts parmesan croque-monsieur stack.

Completing the experience, come face to face with Tweedle Dee’s lemon and curd financier before enjoying the mocha chessboard gateau and with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be late for this important date! Wash everything down with Alice’s cinnamon, apple and peach “Drink Me” potion and for the afternoon tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones clotted cream and fruit preserves.

Diverse flavours and eclectic recipes make Sanderson in Fitzrovia a favourite in London’s fashionable West End. Goodge Street Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

Great venue! Food is quite average and not really worth the £48 (plus £7 service charge per person for a group of 8!). Macaroons and scones were nice but everything else was quite average. I expected more for the price we paid- I think you're paying for the theme and venue rather than the food. A bit disappointing.

From the welcome on arrival to receiving our coats at departure, the entire experience was superb. The staff are delightful and attentive and cannot do enough for you, and the food is mouth wateringly delicious. You are invited to try as many of the teas, coffees, or hot chocolate as you like, and extra sandwiches etc are offered. You would need a large appetite not to be absolutely satisfied. We were asked if it was a special occasion, and I mentioned it was my Daughters birthday, and at the end of the meal they brought her an individual cake with a candle. A lovely and thoughtful gesture to round of the most special afternoon experience.Thank you to one and all.

Very disappointed. The food was average and the service was worse than other luxury hotels. I booked at 15:45, which was quite busy time and they arranged us to sit in the restaurant to have afternoon tea. We tried to call staff but there was no one serving inside. They were all serving afternoon tea at the garden. Later, they moved us to the garden. The cakes came out late, marshmallows were quite messy on the dish. I even found a bug on a marshmallow. A staff came out and apologized us and they also took out service charges from the bill. However, it left us quite bad experience. The only thing impressing us was the unique theme of the afternoon tea.

Lovely outdoor layout with many sweet and savoury treats. You will not go home hungry. No detail is left unturned.

I booked the occasion as a birthday surprise and we were not disappointed! The welcome was good, service excellent. We were told all about the cakes and savouries. The food was delicious, plenty of it, piping hot tea and a lovely cocktail.

Good afternoon tea especially for the kids! The service was attentive , unlike previous reviews, the only thing is that not even once they poured our tea as is common in other hotels! The environment is nice with the inside garden! Overall a nice experience!

Pleasant afternoon tea with some Alice in Wonderland Quirk’s, although the menu would benefit from being completely related to the story, not just 70% of it... I booked a £40 deal which included a “cocktail” (gin and fizzy orange SQUASH does not = cocktail in my book!) Had I walked in off the street and paid £48 for just the tea then 15% tip added, it is in no way good enough to warrant that price! It’s fine on a deal for a one-off experience but there are much more satisying afternoon teas out there than this.

Had a wonderful time! Stylish, glamorous, whimsical afternoon tea ! Really impressed by the attention to detail and flavour, every morsel was delicious ! Excellent service from attentive staff, Giovanni was particularly welcoming and made our visit a delightfully decadent experience! Worth the expense!
