Restaurant description

A chic pop-up dining hotspot in London, Sanderson showcases eclectic international indulgences in a year-round summery setting. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party at Sanderson offers a unique twist on the classic afternoon tea.

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, menus are hidden inside vintage books, kings and queens adorn teapots and sandwich plates decorated with zebras, birdcages and ticking clocks.

The Mad Hatters afternoon tea menu features delectable savoury bites, including smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese, and melt-in-your-mouth King of Hearts ham and parmesan croque-monsieur stack.

Completing the experience, come face to face with Tweedle Dee’s lemon and curd financier before enjoying the mocha chessboard gateau and with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be late for this important date! Wash everything down with Alice-themed cocktails and for the afternoon tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones clotted cream and fruit preserves.

Diverse flavours and eclectic recipes make Sanderson in Fitzrovia a favourite in London’s fashionable West End. Goodge Street Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

Amazing tipsy afternoon tea, food was delicious, great service, even offered a complimentary glass of fizz. Only negative was that they had outdoor heaters and weren't put on, we were offered blankets unsure if they had a fault? Slightly chilly sitting out towards the end.

First time ever handing afternoon tea, loved the Alice theme and all the little details on the cutlery. The fact I could have the vegan options was amazing, absolutely loved the food. My mum absolutely loved her non vegan tea aswell. I would definitely come back again sometime, service was also very lovely. The only thing I would say is just to make sure customers know that the water is £5.50 a bottle when asking if we wanted some as it did bump up our bill a little more. We would have been happy to either one to share or had tap water but were unsware of the price.

We had a lovely time the afternoon tea was really nice and a good experience, presentation was lovely the only downside was we were seated outside and the heaters wasn’t working so it got quite cool and windy! Also I did mention it was my sisters bday and we didn’t get a complementor glass or anything which was quite disappointing.

Afternoon tea was fun and esthetically pleasing. Could focus more on flavour of dishes - some of it was just looking good but sickly sweet. Overall very nice
