Restaurant description

Inside Warrington's Treasury Building, San Lorenzo is a chic Italian eatery spread across two floors. Enjoy mouthwatering Mediterranean flavours in a space that retains much of the building's original features, with Sunday feast special events including live jazz performances.

The San Lorenzo menu crafts gourmet Italian recipes without abandoning the simple, classic options. Nibble on mushroom bruschetta or try some Colchester rock oysters to begin, before sampling treats like lobster bisque soup with stuffed mini lobster dumplings. There are sourdough pizzas made in a wood-fired stone baked oven, with other house specialities including pasta stuffed with duck and grana cheese, finished with a ruby port and Marsala reduction.

For pudding, try the profiteroles accompanied with a signature after-dinner cocktail, like the Bakewell Tart made with Disaronno amaretto. There are all kinds of liqueurs served at San Lorenzo in Warrington, and a diverse wine menu filled with Italian vintages.

Serving gourmet Italian recipes in a stunning venue with rustic design tweaks, San Lorenzo is a 5-minute walk from Warrington Bank Quay Rail Station.

First and foremost the food was brilliant. I've always been impressed by the dishes, in particular the scallops. I know times a rough right now with Covid and I think on the whole the service was OK. St[ill] left waiting a while to order and I felt with it not being as busy the attentiveness could of been a bit better. However, the team were dealing with a few awkward customers and I can see how that impacted us. All in all I'm more than happy and I'll definitely be back.

I enjoyed our meal here yesterday in general but just a couple of issues for us which did disappoint. We ordered with our mains a side of tender stem broccoli, when this arrived it was actually just regular broccoli and was cold. We told the waitress and she offered to replace but we asked to remove from the bill which she did do thankfully. Our starters were great we had scallops and a salad and garlic bread to share both lovely. Our second issue was that in between us eating our starters our main was brought over. The waitress who had taken the order didn’t seem to know why we had this so quickly and did take it away which then must of meant it was sat under a lamp whilst we finished starters. The mains when we did get them also very quickly after starters were also really tasty just the broccoli as mentioned was a let down. I had the king prawn linguine and my guest had fillet steak. Both enjoyed these. We then had a little break and then both enjoyed a dessert of tiramisu and profiteroles with drinks. Overall it was a nice meal and we did enjoy ourselves but just those couple of issues put a bit of a dampener on the evening. Also the tables for too are very cramped you don’t have much space for anything other than you meal and drink.

Hi our food was amazing really enjoyed. There one thing we didn’t like when we arrived for 6 clock we was expecting to be seated upstairs where we had booked (San Lorenzo) but we were taken to a table in Charlie’s bar which was only suitable for drinks. There was no room for nothing else . I had to leave my coat on most of the evening as it was quite cold in there . We have been to San Lorenzo numerous times and never had a problem as we have been seated up the stairs . Thankyou
