Restaurant description

Inside Warrington's Treasury Building, San Lorenzo is a chic Italian eatery spread across two floors. Enjoy mouthwatering Mediterranean flavours in a space that retains much of the building's original features, with Sunday feast special events including live jazz performances.

The San Lorenzo menu crafts gourmet Italian recipes without abandoning the simple, classic options. Nibble on mushroom bruschetta or try some Colchester rock oysters to begin, before sampling treats like lobster bisque soup with stuffed mini lobster dumplings. There are sourdough pizzas made in a wood-fired stone baked oven, with other house specialities including pasta stuffed with duck and grana cheese, finished with a ruby port and Marsala reduction.

For pudding, try the profiteroles accompanied with a signature after-dinner cocktail, like the Bakewell Tart made with Disaronno amaretto. There are all kinds of liqueurs served at San Lorenzo in Warrington, and a diverse wine menu filled with Italian vintages.

Serving gourmet Italian recipes in a stunning venue with rustic design tweaks, San Lorenzo is a 5-minute walk from Warrington Bank Quay Rail Station.

Excellent as always. Food spot on friendly and helpful staff. It made my wife’s 70th birthday very special in these difficult times an oasis of normality.

The food was beautiful. I’d say that the service was not brilliant, we had to ask for the garlic bread that we’d ordered when we’d almost finished the main course, there was no coming and asking if we would like another drink, desserts, coffees etc. We also waited for quite some time for our bill. The waitresses were not particularly friendly either

Well presented venue. Friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Favourite dish: Penne Arrabiatta. Current social distancing restrictions are being respected. Parking available locally but need to walk from there to venue. Prices good at the moment due to the Government subsidies and the priority to keep customer footfall in these coronavirus times. Normally on the more expensive side but still good value for the quality of food, venue and service provided.

My visit was amazing. The venue interior is beautiful. The staff were so friendly and great. The food was incredible. We had Sicilian arancini, scallops, carbonara, vongole, tiramisu. My friend did mention the carbonara was a little rich, day maybe less Parmesan in the sauce possibly, but she did enjoy.

Gorgeous food and fab waiter! All 4 of us loved our starters and mains and was too stuffed for dessert! We have a vegetarian and a person with a nut allergy in our party and we was well catered for. We’ve already booked to come back.
