Family-owned Sevendials is a light and inviting restaurant in the heart of Seven Dials close to Brighton station. Occupying a former bank, the high ceilings and well-spaced tables add to the airy intimacy of the interior, with a brightly painted private room downstairs and a decked and heated terrace for al fresco dining. Food is smart, seasonal and modern European in style, with set menus for lunch and hearty roasts on Sundays. Live jazz and barbeques on selected summer Sundays.

We ate one evening in the week before Christmas as a birthday treat. There was little difference between the Christmas menu and a la Carte, the only disappointment being that the only fish option was salmon. The festive sorbet in bubbly between courses was sensational. Good food and friendly service meant for a relaxed, fun evening.
