An award-winning charcuterie and tapas restaurant, Salt Yard serves small plates inspired by the flavours and produce of Italy. The kitchen has 2 AA Rosettes as well as a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and has emerged as a hotspot for tapas in London with its faithful following of regulars.

Perfect for a business lunch, aperitif-hour drink and nibble, or a celebratory evening meal, the Salt Yard menu serves up a regularly evolving list of tapas. Dishes range from slow-cooked octopus, ratte potatoes and saffron alioli, to ibérico pork loin with celeriac purée and morcilla, and from courgette flowers stuffed with goats’ cheese and drizzled with honey, to the legendary truffled macaroni cheese.

The compact but carefully selected wine menu at Salt Yard in London lists a range of Italian and Spanish wines from large producers, as well as smaller independent growers. A list of cocktails, gins and vermouths completes the picture.

Salt Yard is sister restaurant to the much lauded Opera Tavern, Ember Yard and Dehesa, with the lower floor available for private hire for up to 45 people. It is a 2-minute walk to Goodge St Tube Station, and a 10-minute walk to Oxford Circus. Please note that only charcuterie, cheese and bar snacks are served from 15:00 - 17:30.

The staff at Salt Yard are very welcoming and efficient. The food is non-traditional tapas and most things were very tasty. Our favourite dishes were the seafood croquettes and the roasted peppers. The salt cod was our least favourite dish. Wine selection was good and tasty. It is a cozy and buzzing atmosphere

Twice in two days - this is such a good restaurant. Great range of interesting and different tapas- but are they moving a little away from the Spanish?. Amazing Manchegos, though. House wine (used to be a smooth Borsao; now changed to something more angular, complex and less quaffable. Ambience super - busy but not in your face. Just love it.

Fantastic experience! Went with my mother who previously has not enjoyed Spanish food but she thought it was amazing and quite gourmet! Food was great and fairly priced and service was very friendly and efficient. Wines by the glass were also very good. I would definitely return.

Quality of food are all good and staff are very helpful. Personally, less salt is better. One downside is a table we had for 7 people at the end of restaurant is not spacious.

The food was fresh and full of flavour. Liked the octopus so much we ordered a second plate! Great martini if a bit expensive

The food was fantastic but our experience was let down by some really terrible service. After the initial cold tapas it took over 40 minutes to get the hot dishes. We could understand that the restaurant was busy but even when we asked for desert menus, we had to chase them up for the menu after 10+ minutes. Even when the food was put on the kitchen hatch is took them over 10 minutes to pick it up and bring it to the table (we saw it put in the hatch and at this point we were discussing, I bet that’s ours, should we just go and get it ourselves?). The restaurant was not even half full so there was no excuse for the shoddy service. It’s a shame because the food was excellent and it marred the whole experience and I could now recommend it to friends. I should add that staff were friendly, they just seemed a bit clueless (we were asked 3 times about whether we had been given the iberico ham but after that were ignored).

Very disappointing visit, booked Thai for our wedding anniversary visit to London, service was slow and odd with the tapas coming out in 2’s even though I chased things up,
Very expensive for what we received with size of portions mainly the torched mackerel which was an absolute rip off, we left the Patatas fritas as they’re we’re just cold chips with a coating of dry paprika and the sauces didn’t do any good with them!
I’ve eaten a lot of tapas from mainly mainland Spain and these were well below average!
    Very disappointed
