Restaurant description

A London dining landmark for over 30 years, the permanently moored R.S. Hispaniola offers scenic views of Big Ben, the houses of parliament and the London Eye. This iconic London river restaurant serves French and British cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Stunning river views are offered on the outside decks and throughout the upper deck restaurant. Leading the helm is the rising head chef, Harrison Brown, who focuses strongly on British seasonality and sustainability when creating his menus, bringing you the best of British produce whilst also giving back to the suppliers and to the community.

The R.S. Hispaniola offers an amazing selection of star deals, including unlimited prosecco with a 3-course dinner, a “date night” comprising of a succulent 20oz Aberdeen Angus chateaubriand for two with a bottle of champagne and a free flowing afternoon tea option. Alongside these deals is the diverse bill of fare, which showcases delights such as whole Dover sole meunière, mouth-watering scallops, tender racks of lamb with rich red wine jus and the classic grilled steaks, all of which can be traced back to the farm.

The new addition of a Tikki themed cocktail bar, supported by a live DJ on selected nights, will bring the pleasures of that late night summer party vibe, a perfect end to a day out in the bustling city.

Moored at Victoria Embankment, opposite the London eye, once on-board the R.S. Hispaniola you will see that everything from the menu and ingredients to the ambience is designed to give you an unrivalled dining experience, one to truly never forget. Please reserve your table today.

Informed Hispaniola of my friends 75th birthday when booking - they did nothing extra for her. I ordered duck at £4 supplement - they had run out (we were there at 6pm). Offered sirloin at same supplement but if I hadn’t also ordered an extra side, it presumably would have come on its own in the plate?! If the duck was meant to have greens and stuff, surely the replacement would have the same veg? As it was, the line of gristle up the middle of the steak rendered that area inedible so really, paying £8 extra for a poor quality steak with no veg other than an extra side is bad. Free flow Prosecco had an odd perfume to it but otherwise the rest of the meal was fine and the staff were nice. Rating would have been 5 if the substitute main had been a good value substitute.

We had a lovely dining experience at the R.S Hispaniola on the Thames on the Victoria Embankment. I booked this 3 course lunch with free flowing Prosecco ( for 1 hour), as a birthday surprise lunch to celebrate my wife’s very special birthday. The restaurant was quite serene and un-rushed. My wife had the potted shrimps( £3 extra charge) as a starter and I had the lobster bisque with hot sourdough bread. For mains, my wife and I both had the duck breast (£4 extra for each) . The portions were very good and quality as well as presentation were superb. The restaurant looked clean and well maintained. The staff , Andrei and Flak( hope I spelt their names right) were both, polite , professional, attentive, jovial, good humoured and very accommodating, engaging in interesting conversations with us. They are an asset to the employer and such good hardworking staff and not easy to find.As a previous manager myself I have had numerous discussions with Employers persuading them to also try to focus and invest on their staff to KEEP them rather that exploit them, in their sole goal of increasing profits. High staff turnover means No good staff= No customers= Failing business = Bankruptcy and ultimate shutdown.

Stunning view, loved the red neon 90s chic, food was amazing, they have the best peppercorn sauce I ever had in my life (and I had many), the only thing we did not enjoy was overhearing the waiter shouting at another waiter.

Excellent venue with brilliant views of the Thames and the Wheel - Food very good, but could have more on the menu - The staff are friendly and attentive - Only disappoint is that the free flowing has been reduced to an hour.

It is not my first time. I do like the place. Nice atmosfere.Great view if you are sitting on the side facing the london eye. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I would not go if it was for the Food though, it is a bit of a disappointment. Need to improve it.

My mom and I had an amazing experience dinning here! We were able to amend the booking as needed and even when we turned up a bit earlier than we had said the staff were very nice and gave us a table straightaway. (And one next to the window like I asked, so we could see the London Eye!) We were also allowed to stay later than the 2 hour allocated slot but it might have been because it was late and there were not that many people. The food was amazing and the staff looked after us really well. We had the 3 course meal with free flowing bubbles, we ordered from the set offer menu: mom ordered the salmon which she thought was on point, I had the risotto which was great. We were able to choose when to start the bottomless prosecco and we never had to tell them to refill our glasses because the staff were very attentive. And the views were of course fantastic! Right next to the London Eye, we were even allowed out on the deck for pictures! Boat did sway a little but that's to be expected. Other than that we had a great time and I would definitely recommend.

Andrei was our waiter and the food and service was excellent... Plus the prosecco really was free flowing. We all had a wonderful and memorable evening. Thoroughly recommend.
