We had afternoon tea. The atmosphere was very relaxing, we were treated with the utmost respect. The food was excellent as was the service. The scones were light but the pastries were even lighter.

A luxurious 19th-century manor house hotel, Rowhill Grange near Dartford hosts the sophisticated RG’s Restaurant, winner of 2 AA Rosettes. The more informal Elements Bar & Lounge serves brasserie-style cuisine, while both offer al fresco dining on the garden terrace, also ideal for traditional afternoon tea.

The RG’s Restaurant menu embraces seasonal flavours, with venison loin with pumpkin puree, red cabbage and chocolate, and wild turbot with crab and broad bean risotto amongst its mains. The RG’s grill sizzles with prime sirloin, organic chicken and salmon served with hollandaise.

Big club sandwiches and flavourful salads are trademarks of the Elements menu, along with classic pastas and chunky cod and chips. RG’s is an inviting setting for a fulsome Sunday lunch, where decadent starters and puddings join traditional roasts, or equally tempting fish and vegetarian dishes.

Served in the restaurants or one of the relaxing Rowhill Grange lounges, afternoon tea can be accompanied by strawberries and champagne, with freshly baked cakes straight from the Rowhill Grange pastry chefs. In Wilmington, Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa is a 10-minute drive from central Dartford.

It was fine but would have expected far more adaption & accommodation of allergen issues ahead of our arrival considering they were made aware at the time of booking.
The coffee was very weak. I could see the bottom of my cup!!!
My turning up with my baby seemed to be a hassle & hinderance.

An overall good dining experience. However we did have to ask for bread (this was given to everyone else, we think this was purely an oversight), we were disappointed with the food, while the presentation was excellent the food itself wasn't tasty, it's an expensive place and (in my opinion) I don't think it's pretty food is worth the money if it's not full of flavour. My Lamb tasted dry even though it was pink.
I also disliked the "discretionary service charge" that was automatically added on to everything, whether it was buying drinks or on the meal. This place is not cheap and the discretionary service charge is not small. Appreciate this is "discretionary"; however if it's discretionary why is it added on without asking?

We was very lucky with superb weather, the Setting was lovely and we had a nice table next to the window.
The food was ok, not many sandwiches provided for the price and service needed to be improved. I had to ask for service atleast twice and it wasn't overly busy.

It was the first time I have been for a couple of years and we left very disappointed. The service we received was extremely poor. The highchair was filthy and hadn't even had a wipe over, the straps on the replacement were "stained not dirty" according to your colleague. The carpet had food debris under the table. When the stand arrived we were not informed as to what the cakes were. Nobody returned to ask if we wanted more of anything or more tea. We had to go to the bar to pay and told the colleague we were not paying the service charge and he was most apologetic regarding our experience

Had a set lunch. The food was very good and service also very friendly. Lovely views of surrounding greenery especially at window table. Lots of people here for spa breaks also walking around in bath robes so very relaxed atmosphere and nice jazz being played. My only reason for 4 stars and not 5 would be the cost of £25 for 2 courses and not 3 on the lunch set menu. Most top end restaurants would include 3 courses, if not a glass of wine and coffee also for that price! So our bill was rather high as though it was dinner. Would go again. Lovely setting.
