From the acclaimed team behind Dock Kitchen, Rotorino is a sleek southern Italian eatery that brings rustic Mediterranean cuisine to East London. Whether enjoying al fresco pavement dining or the elegant restaurant area, diners can indulge in an outstanding range of Italian and international wins selected by Ruth Spivey of Street Vin.
The Rotorino menu spans everything from cured and wood-grilled meats, to rich mozzarella to fresh, decadent pasta. Diners can exult in the hanger steak with Calabrian chilli sauce, or enjoy one of the multiple choice house wines or chilled Italian beers available from the opulent, superbly-stocked bar.
Every detail in Rotorino is exquisitely observed, from the nautical decorations to the atmospheric low-hanging lamps. The effervescent blues and sultry caramels of the tiling and seating are instantly eye-catching, giving the restaurant a vibrant, coastal milieu that belies its urban setting.
An Italian-themed haven on the bustling Kingsland Road, Rotorino in London is just a 5-minute walk from Haggerston Station.

It was a very nice place, nice atmopshere, a very pleasant place to be. The staff were very nice and helpful. The food was fairly average though for the price. For the amount we paid each including a reasonable amount of booze, you could get that kind of food for half the price somewhere else. Although I enjoyed the place, if you're looking to treat yourself and you're willing to push the boat out and spend some money on great food, this is not the place. There are plenty of places where you can better for less.

We visited Rotorino for the Tuscan regional dinner, having dined there twice before. The food was innovative and very well executed - a rabbit papardelle with a slight smokiness from the pancetta; a perfect panzanella in which each of the ingredients could be tasted individually and blended to deliver a summery freshness (in March); a selection of simple starters, tripe in tomato and cheese sauce, battered basil leaves and anchovies, fried artichokes. And a bottle of reasonably priced Chilean Pinot Noir. Highly recommended.
It's a bit clamorous tho, so if you are looking for quiet and intimate you may want to look elsewhere.
The service was less attentive than before. Not really a complaint, just a bit less welcoming - but still better than most comparable restaurants.

Nice atmosphere, drinks and antipasti were good. Cheesecake was incredible.
Other food was very very salty. Service incredibly slow and unfriendly despite the restaurant being only half full.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice, not noisy and the furniture looks nice as well. The food is good, portions are generous but there is room for improvement. Few little details: if you want to be an Italian restaurant you should bring bread as default, service was a bit slow (we waited half an hour in between starters and pasta), dishes were good and tasty, nothing exceptional though. Waiters should be dressed in a bit more "professional" way, at least a uniform or the same t shirt..Nice drinks and good to have the option of half a bottle of wine. It is a nice place but for the price you pay I was expecting more.
