Restaurant description

From the acclaimed team behind Dock Kitchen, Rotorino is a sleek southern Italian eatery that brings rustic Mediterranean cuisine to East London. Whether enjoying al fresco pavement dining or the elegant restaurant area, diners can indulge in an outstanding range of Italian and international wins selected by Ruth Spivey of Street Vin.

The Rotorino menu spans everything from cured and wood-grilled meats, to rich mozzarella to fresh, decadent pasta. Diners can exult in the hanger steak with Calabrian chilli sauce, or enjoy one of the multiple choice house wines or chilled Italian beers available from the opulent, superbly-stocked bar.

Every detail in Rotorino is exquisitely observed, from the nautical decorations to the atmospheric low-hanging lamps. The effervescent blues and sultry caramels of the tiling and seating are instantly eye-catching, giving the restaurant a vibrant, coastal milieu that belies its urban setting.

An Italian-themed haven on the bustling Kingsland Road, Rotorino in London is just a 5-minute walk from Haggerston Station.

The squash Gnudi melts in your mouth with a buttery sage sauce and the cocktails are to die for. I've been on a numerous occasions, including for a party of 20 of us and it's always been great! Easily one of my favourite restaurants in London.

The pasta is outstanding, especially the sausage ragu. The chicken was also great, really enjoyed the toast element to it. My girlfriend has the whole sea breem, which was delicious, but slightly tough to eat with all the bones and only by candlelight. If we'd been in a booth, it probably wouldn't have been an issue, but just one to watch out for.

We were a group of seven and had a great time. Service was excellent, laid back but very knowledgeable. We were able to try an excellent bottle of white wine that wasn’t yet on the menu. Food was excellent - I particularly liked the hangar steak and all sides. The veggies were happy too with some really creative pasta dishes.
