The Riverside Brasserie Bray serves simple but high-end food on the banks of the Thames. The fresh British and Mediterranean dishes can be enjoyed on the waterside terrace, or in the restaurant itself, where full-length glass doors allow for equally idyllic views.

The Riverside Brasserie menu offers rich dishes like pan-fried duck breast with port-glazed red cabbage, and corn-fed chicken with buttered new potatoes and truffle jus. Fresh fish dishes include pan-fried halibut, crab and cucumber risotto, whilst grill specials feature a range of juicy steaks with peppercorn or red wine sauce.

As well as a host of refreshing and indulgent desserts, diners can sample the house cocktails and an impressive choice of wines. Rustic and wholesome Sunday lunches are also a firm favourite at The Riverside Brasserie.

Benefiting from an enviable waterside location, The Riverside Brasserie Monkey Island is a 10-minute drive from both Maidenhead and Windsor and Eton Central train stations.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch despite the pouring rain on the day. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. We hope to go again when the weather is better because the outlook and location was outstanding.

Service was slow, waiter never came back for drink order and had to find him for desert order. Duck was completely over cooked, steak was over well done when ordered medium. Mash potato resembled smash.

An unusual spot to get to but so peaceful. It's also an unusual building but it has character. And that's as near critical as it's possible to be. The location is a joy and the food is excellent value. Staff are friendly and quick. We were fortunate to have one of the hottest evenings of the year with the added novelty of The Queen's Jubilee barge moored alongside. (Don't imagine she was inside; we dined al fresco). All in all a delightful experience.

The restaurant has a lovely situation by the river. With a very good menu and friendly service. But the prices are on the high side.

Unusual but very pleasant location right alongside the Thames. We dined outside on a sunny evening and took advantage of the heater near the table later on. When we chose the outdoor table we had also been given the option of moving to an indoor table if it became necessary. The whole process was geared to making holders of Experience Day vouchers feel very welcome which was a pleasant surprise. Although we were unaware of any dress code, most diners were wearing very smart-casual clothes which enhanced the overall appeal of the venue. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, the food was extremely good and well-presented and I was treated to "Happy Birthday" in chocolate plus a candle alongside my dessert after my wife had informed the waiter of the occasion. Overall it was an extremely pleasant experience which rounded off a marvelous start to my eighth decade. My only caveat is to wonder if it would have seemed less idyllic on a rainy evening.

The whole Experience was a very much appreciated gift which I would not hesitate to recommend.
