The restaurant was bleak and judging by the numbers of diners not a popular choice. We could understand why after a meal that was both unappetising and parsimonious in its prop ration. I had a grand total of six chips with my fish, two of which were inedible.
Needless to say we won’t be back again.

Such attentive and cooperative staff. The owner offered to create a vegetable medley for one of our party a she didn’t like the veggie selection. Food was lovely, tasty, nicely cooked and good value. Especially the beef shin!

One of our favourite restaurants. However on this occasion not very pleased.
Starter - soup and bread. Bread as hard as a rock, yet part tasted doughy.
Mains - chicken. One tiny chicken wing. Not enough meat to feed a mouse!
Chocolate pudding & ice cream - very nice.

This restaurant was booked for a party of 8 to celebrate my Birthday with friends and family. It was booked several weeks before said date.Booked by myself and picked because of Michelin rating, the advertised menu, the position and reviews. We arrived promptly and found the restaurant clean and tidy but the table was a little cramped for our party. The single sheet menu handed to us was not the same as advertised on line and one of our party, who lives locally had phoned earlier in the week to check on certain items and found it different to what she had been told. The wine list was poor although the red wine selected was okay. My wife asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio only to be told that there was not enough left in the bottle to give her a full measure. Her second choice was poor and warm. The starters arrived in acceptable time and were good but two of our party had to have them re-heated because they were cold. Five of our party ordered Fillet Steak, the most expensive offering on the menu, only to be told that they only had three left. Myself and one other agreed to make another choice which was uninspiring. The table was booked well in advance for 1900 hrs on a Saturday night for a party of 8 to celebrate a Birthday and I find it unacceptable that a Restaurant that depicts itself as above average could provide this level of poor service. When asked by our waitress if everything was okay I explained my level of frustration to be met with a blank look and un-helpfull comments. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he wasn't there. I asked to speak to whoever was in charge and was presented with the assistant manager who, although apologetic, did nothing to make amends for the shortcomings and indeed seemed very uncomfortable in handling the situation. I have eaten in many Restaurants that have been far better and one or two that have fallen short in some area but upon complaint, have made real efforts to put right the problem.

Sadly this was not an overall good experience. Starters were Mussels and Pate. Mussels seemed to have cooked for some time then had a watery sauce with slices of garlic addd. Main course portions were small - especially sea bass ( we pointed this out and got a reduction - but that's not really the point. The potatoes with the Quail were overdone - probably done three times!. The apple parfait for pudding was lovely! The bill was the calculated wrongly but was corrected at our request

There was no atmosphere. The restaurant was cold. The food was luke warm and they over charged us for our wine.
