Afternoon tea was for 3 people, very nicely presented but only 2 scones for 3 ... Had to ask for a third scone and more clotted cream and jam. Otherwise service was lovely, we were served after people arrived after us, which is odd. We ordered a very nice bottle of prosecco £29. It was very noisy at 3pm and calmer towards 5pm. I would go again with friends or family.
Friendly helpful staff but food very disappointing and over priced for what it is.
Great value in their formal tea
Great atmosphere and the quality of food was excellent. Menu was delightful because it was different. I particularly liked the flavours and presentation of the scotch egg starter.
I went to Muriel's 3 years ago and loved it. When I went back now I was really disappointed: the fried bread of the popeye egg was literally deep fried, dripping with fat. I refused tp eat it. Had eggs royale instead: eggs were good but the sauce hollandaise was sour and the spinach tasted bland and seemed to have been cooked dead, terrible. My friend had the halloumi with eggs - the bread she got with it was very small and literally a baguette sliced thinly lengthways. My juice tasted only of bell peppers and nothing else and the milk for my friend's tea tasted just wrong. Friendly staff, but honestly I won't be back. Also, absolutely overpriced scones. So, no.
This is my second visit to this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. It is a small cosy setting, the food and service is always good. Being a Monday and the restaurant wasn't crowded the music was a little loud, but when we asked for it to be turned down this was done with immediate effect. The staff are friendly and efficient. We took advantage of the January 50% off the food deal, which was fantastic value.
Having visited the soho restaurant before decided to try South Kensington as we were going to the Albert Hall.
Glad I booked in advance as very buisy, food was very good, not a large menu service excellent nice friendly atmosphere.
All in all very good value for money.
