Steaks superb, starters and desserts were OK but 3way cooked chips very disappointing -hard and not appertizing. Staff polite and professional as always . But no feedback on my comments about chips.
Beautiful place, amazing food and lovely staff.
Overall a good experience
We visited the Wild Boar for the third time and weren’t disappointed. On previous visits we have had the Alternative Afternoon Tea and before that, hot sandwiches at lunchtime. This visit was for our wedding anniversary and we had Sunday lunch. My husband ordered the ham hock starter and thoroughly enjoyed it. I opted for smoked salmon mouse and it was also delicious. We both had roast beef for mains - both were very tasty, perfectly cooked and were very well presented. We then had sticky toffee pudding for pudding, which was a perfect end to a perfect meal. The service, from entering the bar area to leaving after our meal, was outstanding. All staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. They all seemed happy in their work and, although we didn’t have to ask for anything, I’m sure nothing would have been too much trouble had we asked.
We had yet another amazing afternoon tea, cannot fault the food and the staff here! We had booked as a special treat for my mum as she was visiting from Oxfordshire and although the weather was awful we had a lovely time here and forgot about it for a couple of hours.
Excellent food service and atmosphere

Wonderful food and great service
Amazing Inn, fantastic features. Service was superb, food amazing and unique - definitely a place to go back to time and time again!! The ‘afternoon tea’ special, with the amazing sausages, mini-fish and chips and sliders were superb. And a change from the rest. Excellent value & well worth a visit!
