It was just like being in France. Not a huge menu but delicious, all the same.
We had a fabulous family birthday dinner at the restaurant. The staff were wonderful. The food was absolutely top-class. No complaints whatsoever.
The service was wonderful. We were supposed to have had dinner there a couple of days ago, but there was a snafu with our reservation and it was canceled by the restaurant at the last minute. To make it up to us, the manager invited us to come back and enjoy champagne and dessert on them, so we did. We were pressed for time and they were able to get our food out right away. My salad and my husband’s sandwich were perfectly prepared and delicious. We took our dessert to go and enjoyed it later in the evening and it was totally yummy. Next time we’re in London we’ll return for a more leisurely dinner.
In the usual French Cuisine, very good dishes were the pheasant terrine and the soup of the day.
The food as always was lovely and so was the ambience. People were friendly when we arrived. However, after waiting for some time, I got out of my seat to find someone to take our order. We all ordered afternoon tea with free flowing bubbles. The glasses were topped up once, without our prompting, but after that we had to keep asking if it was possible for a top up. It wasn't outside of the time that we were allowed and so it was all a bit irritating.
Having informed staff on arrival that we needed to leave in 40 minutes get to a theatre, we were served very pleasantly and promptly with a delicious omelette dish each and a glass of wine, giving us plenty of time to get away and see the play. Would definitely go again.
Good service, friendly people, very busy but everyone was polite and helpful, granddaughter had sausages which were cold but food whisked away and five minutes later another meal in its place, nothing too much trouble
