Had another great meal at La Belle Epoque which kicked off my holiday in style - as ever great food and service and will be returning again.
The tasting menu was an absolute delight and especially at an airport location. Faultless food and service
Fabulous taster menus, great service
Good food and service. Amuse bouche were better than my starter. Bit pricey but it’s Heathrow airport
Excellent service in a large room which perhaps lacks a little character but this is a restaurant in an airport hotel and for that it does very well. Laurent Perrier champagne was a terrific non-vintage aperitif and not with a silly price tag. So we had two glasses each. A wild mushroom soup amuse-bouche actually served a purpose, coming in a quantity that was sufficient to enjoy and packed with flavour. My pigeon starter was outstanding and putting the rest of the bird on the plate would have made a great main course. The Iberico pork main course was slightly on the tough side and if that was corrected this too would be outstanding. The wine list had some good value for money including a St Emilion Grand Cru 2008 from a reputable producer at sub £80. The chocolate pudding was simply conceived and predictably delicious. Armagnac completed a thoroughly enjoyable evening. In summary this was good old fashioned French cooking and if this place opened up in central London but perhaps with the interior designed differently to represent a Paris eatery from days yonder there would be queues lining up to eat here.
Ambience excellent, Service superb, food 8 out of 10
Food and service very good
Odd setting .Why try to make it like Old Paris when it is in a modern building.?
Best octopus ,my friend said and the sweet bread very good. Would eat here again .
A few cheaper wines would be good
Excellent food and sevice
Really fantastic food. I particularly liked the tomato starter which looked beautiful and tasted even better. My husband cannot really decide which he preferred between the beef main course and the white chocolate dessert.
