The dining experience was of a very high quality, the staff were rather pleasant and they all knew there jobs. Because I am not a massive eater I ordered the green salad with truffle oil dressing... it was very nice and a good portion, however, I felt it tasted a little more like balsamic vinegar. But, it was still very nice and I did enjoy it. We all had fillet steak for our main course; I have to say that the steak was marvellous, the flavour was sensational and it was incredibly tender. The chips I felt could have been a little more crispy but they were still very good. My brother ordered the fillet steak au poivre, he was delighted with it. And he desserts were great! I had the millionaire shortbread which was sublime - a very generous portion! Overall, the meal was brilliant with only a few areas of improvement and he service was relaxed and at the pace desired at an establishment like this one. Perhaps a way to improve the service would be to for the front of house team to make sure you never have an empty glass of wine - but perhaps my brother is too used to London restaurants! The booking service was very easy to use. Thank you for a great meal!
Extremely disappointed. The waiter snapped the cork in a £45 bottle of wine, which I rejected. The Front of House then removed the broken cork - which I reminded her I rejected, The steaks came to the table and were not announced, we had to ask the waiter which was which, the order was wrong - came with chips and not a salad as requested, steak was cold, plate was cold. 2 course meal for 2 - £157...…...really!
Front of house staff and servers excellent. However, Food diabolical. Overpriced , not cooked to order and cold. Sorry but this was awful. I should have realised there would be a problem when I was able to get a table on a Saturday night at short notice and have a choice of times! Will definitely avoid this place in the future.
The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. It was our 13th Wedding Anniversary and the lovely waitress brought out a plate decorated with chocolate “Happy Anniversary” writing and a delicious piece of cake it was a lovely heart warming touch.
Good food at a reasonable price.Great olives, nice calamari plus a lovely fillet steak. The Malbec was a steal at £21.
I ordered the salmon fishcakes my husband fish and chips, both which excellent especially the fish cakes.
Food and service was exceptional
Food and Service where First Class
On the whole very very good, the only downside was waiting 45mins for a starter. We had steak for mains and they were perfect! Overall however the quality of the food was excellent, couldn’t fault. Steaks here better than other ‘steakhouses ‘.
Our waiter Jonny (Johnathon) was really great! I was glad to see a service charge added to the bill actually! I hope at these restaurants the waiters get to keep their tips, as i've worked in restaurants like Loch Fyne before, where if you didnt make enough physical cash tips to pay the kitchen staff, you actually ended up oweing the restaurant your tips (which was mad because these days most people dont carry cash) ANYWAY!
Jonny was great, even when I asked for a margarita which isnt on the cocktail menu but it was perfect! The French onion soup was the nicest i've ever had! The keith flint burger was tasty but too big for me! and the little 'congratulations' plate at the end (we'd just got married) was a really sweet touch.
Only very small negative comments! The front of house lady was a little 'full on' when we sat down we could hear her angrily yelling at someone about how she passionately makes every guest's experience very special, but she was er...yelling this? At someone, so even though the sentiment was nice, she was quite aggressive in how she said it! She was nice enough but i'm glad she wasn't our waiter as she was quite scary!
my husband's steak fillet was nice he said, but a little too salty. He ate all of it because he was hungry, and it certainly didn't warrant a complaint! But I don't think he'll want to get the steak again. I'd return to the restaurant to try some other dishes, and I think he would too.
The booth was great! Really lovely and romantic, so thank you for seating us there as it was a special occasion! Lastly the wine (rioja) was delicous
