The Restaurant & Tea Room at the Feathers Hotel in Ludlow is housed in one of the most iconic, 17th Century buildings in the UK that is celebrating its 400th anniversary this year. Following an extensive a refurbishment, the tea room has already become a haven for local tea room lovers and visitors to the historical market town. The contemporary, but quintessentially British tea room is open daily serving breakfast, lunch and, of course, afternoon tea, and is perfectly situated right on the high street with all local attractions just a short walk away.
The Tea Room at the Feathers Hotel menu perfectly matches the splendour of the venue with all bread, meats and other ingredients sourced from superb local suppliers. Alongside the tea room’s own blend of coffee there is a choice of 11 fine loose leaf teas, including The Feathers very own blend of breakfast tea. Guests can also indulge in carefully-cut finger sandwiches, bagels, salads, delicate cakes, home-made pastries and fresh, warm scones with delicious preserves all baked freshly every day and served on stunning stands that make for the perfect centre pieces to the table.
The new tea room still retains the charm and character of the listed building, combined with a touch of modern lighting, interiors and style. Most notably is the eclectic mix of lighting, banquette seating, traditional fireplace and feature wall mural which pays homage to its hometown of Ludlow. Guests can unwind in the ambience inside with gentle music playing, or enjoy the stunning terrace to the rear of the hotel on sunnier days.

The food was very good. If I had one criticism it would be that I would have liked to have seen a lighter option on the menu everything looked delicious but very calorific i ordered a salmon with fennel purée and beurre blanc and it was delicious the crème brûlée desert was divine the service was exceptional with your waiter going above and beyond to be helpful and pleasant

Very impressed with the Decor, atmosphere, quality of drinks and attentive nature of Maitre D upon arrival. Food quality was outstanding and well presented. Service is very slow and servers pay little attention to the table apart from taking the order and delivering the dishes. I would suggest looking at the training of service staff as it will make a good restaurant great.

Friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. The refurbishment of the bar and restaurant is really nice. The dining room definitely has that wow factor when you walk in. Sadly that is where the complimentary comments must end. The food was a massive disappointment. My celeriac veloute was tasteless and I can only liken it to wallpaper paste in terms of texture and colour. My main course was marginally better, the chicken having been cooked very well, but the bacon in the pea vegetable dish was so overcook that it was rock hard and couldn't be picked up by a folk. My husband's main course was belly pork, with no crispy skin, but soggy fat instead. The potatoes with black pudding looked disgusting, and tasted pretty much as they looked. I am really sorry to say we won't be eating at the Feathers again which is very unfortunate as we live locally and love to eat out locally on a weekly basis.
