South of Hamburg in the tranquil village of Hittfeld is the Nordlicht, a stylish restaurant managed by Henry Theben and Katja Röser. With the restaurant situated so near to Hamburg, fresh fish figures prominently on the menu alongside a sophisticated assortment of meat dishes and some vegetarian specialities. Flavour enhancers and colouring additives do not get a look in, and you can even ask for your meal to be gluten-free. The lunch and evening menus offer a choice of delicacies such as Mediterranean sea bream fillet with saffron sauce and seafood risotto, spaghetti in truffle sauce with grated Alba truffle and warm Valrhona chocolate cake with espresso chocolate sorbet - all specially prepared for people who appreciate fine food.
