Food arrived hot, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Portion size too was just right.
A genuinely pleasant dining experience in a nice location.

Featured in the Michelin Guide, the 18th-century Tormaukin Hotel delivers inventive versions of British and European classics to be enjoyed in the restaurant, conservatory or bar. An outdoor terrace offers al fresco dining in warmer weather.

The Tormaukin Hotel menu is updated weekly and features flavour-rich starters such as smoked sea trout with beetroot purée, Waldorf salad, and vanilla citrus aioli. Follow this with beef olives with caramelised horseradish and root vegetables, or pan-seared scallops with artichoke velouté, black pudding, pea purée and pancetta.

Amongst the tempting desserts, discover the likes of cappuccino crème brûlée with fresh berries and hazelnut shortbread, or warm treacle tart with marmalade ice cream and caramelised orange. Sandwiches and lighter bites are also on offer throughout the day.

Packed with rustic charm, exposed brick walls, wooden beams and a roaring fire create a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. Located a 10-minute drive from Gleneagles, the Tormaukin Hotel Glendevon offers a unique rural escape amidst stunning Scottish scenery.

Online booking was painless. Nice window table, unobtrusive, but friendly service.

Compared to previous visits found this visit disappointing. Starter of smoked trout was very well presented and once we had added a little horseradish was very tasty. However the main course of roast sirloin of beef was poor, overcooked with unseasoned vegetables and absolutely smothered in gravy. I would also question whether the cut was actually sirloin, looked more like silverside and was very tough. I actually left most of my main course. On the whole extremely disappointing.

We have visited a number of times and have never been disappointed with the food served. A lovely Father's Day meal where we ate courses of a very high quality.

Lovely coaching inn type building in stunning Glendevon. Well presented outside and in. A cosy bar area and nice open conservatory for eating in as well as a more formal dining room. We were seated in the bar eating area and given a bar lunch menu with a wide variety of choice. Ordered the Sunday roast beef with trimmings and it was very nice. All home made and vegetables cooked to perfection. Good service and although attentive not pressured or overbearing. Spot on!

Service was friendly and reasonably prompt. Food was piping hot and very tasty. Serving was on the large side but that's a minor criticism. Coffee was served in the restaurant which was ok but on previous occasions we've retired to the comfortable and welcoming lounge area for our coffee which would have been preferable.

Meeting friends we had not seen for many years, we wanted a place where the meal and the environs were both good. The Tormaukin was both!

Welcomed on arrival and shown through to the lounge which was cosy & had a lovely feature fireplace with a cheery fire going. Menus produced to peruse with our pre -lunch drink and escorted through to the restaurant when our meal was ready. Both starter (wood pigeon) & mains (various) were nicely presented and also tasted very good. Coffee (good standard) served in the lounge by the fire. Overall, a very pleasant visit.
