Excellent evening all round. From being welcomed at the bar and taken through to the restaurant, to the excellent table service and beautiful food, everything was perfect. Thank you!

Just a pebble's throw from the seafront, The Port Gaverne boasts 2 AA Rosettes and serves up inventive seasonal dishes using produce from the bountiful local area. Settle down in the quaint restaurant with local views, or relax in the snug bar with its rustic wooden features and charming coastal feel.

The Port Gaverne menu is full of traditional Cornish flavours, with signature touches from the talented kitchen. Start off with 72-hour sourdough with seaweed and yoghurt butter, moving on to roast Cornish chicken with pancetta, fresh truffle and parsnips. There are rustic sandwiches that make ideal quick lunches, and a dedicated children's menu too.

Traditional English flavours all feature on the dessert menu at the Restaurant at The Port Gaverne in Cornwall. Enjoy baked vanilla rice pudding, and blackberry and vanilla cheesecake, and be sure to sample something from the carefully crafted wine list.

A charming seaside setting for modern British recipes, The Port Gaverne is moments from the centre of Port Isaac.

Quaint building Good choices at lunchtime.
I had set menu. Mushroom soup was delicious. Flat iron steak was good but a little underdone for me. I wasn’t asked how I wished it to be cooked. Meringue not homemade I think. However good value for money.

I can not fault any part of our dinning experience. From the moment we entered the staff were truly special. They have been especially chosen and they made the whole experience as much as the food. They were friendly, all very knowledgeable and had just the right manner. The Somelier was brilliant with a lovely manner.

The food was exceptional and you had to eat very slowly to savour every mouthful. We went as we were staying in Port Gaverne and the day we went for dinner was my 60 th birthday. It is very expensive and certainly not what we would normally pay for dinner!! However for a very special occasion and with the memeories of the whole experience it was worth it!

Superb food, the fish soup is to die for but everything we tasted was sublime and our friends from Wiltshire were immensely impressed. Impeccable service was friendly achieving the right balance between over-familiarity and superiority. We would love to eat here every day but parking is an issue. Our designated driver enjoyed the tuk tuk shuttle from the car park at the top of the hill but this finishes at 8pm and he struggled with the steep hill climb up the dark, unmade footpath to retrieve the car at the end of the evening. This was the only negative and explains why location is only awarded four stars instead of five.
