Newly refurbished restaurant in an historical house. Great service and food presentation and quality absolutely A1.

A hidden gem that is well worth finding just on the outskirts of Wrexham.

Eat there twice during a short break and hope to return soon.

To start, there is duck and chestnut terrine with beetroot chutney and toasted corn bread, while hearty mains include black pudding-stuffed belly pork with sage mash, tender stem broccoli and roasted baby apple. On Sundays there are traditional roast dinners, as well as seafood options such as salmon fillet chowder with clams, mussels and a mini loaf.

Desserts at the Restaurant at The Lemon Tree in Wrexham include treats like blood orange and chocolate cheesecake with chocolate sorbet and burnt orange coulis. There is a great selection of craft beers and fine wines, while the afternoon teas are packed with indulgent options.

Lovely environment with pleasant temperature. Great service, attentive but not overly. However although the food was fine, it wasn’t overly special and memorable which is what I would have expected.

Warm greeting. Taken to an area where there were two other couples in a small area, rest of restaurant appeared fairly empty!
Food was good, but nothing special, pork dish and steak chosen were both over cooked.
Staff were very friendly, but overall felt food was expensive, and lacked quality

We were seated at our table and our drinks orders taken before going on to order food. So far, so good. However, it was a full 45 minutes before our main courses arrived as we watched other diners receive their starters and main courses (including a couple who had arrived well after us). When we asked for our food it came out in about 5 minutes but was very disappointing. What we hoped would be a fine dining experience (very hard to find in our area), turned out to be luke-warm with the mashed potatoes tasting like very salty Smash. The meat on both dishes was cooked well but one main had an element missing and, what was supposed to be two different flavours of mashed potato, were indistinguishable from each other. Things improved with the dessert, but this also took some considerable time to reach the table. Although two waiting on staff did apologise about the initial wait, I don't think we'll be calling again. Highlight of the evening: a very tasty raspberry bellini.
