Restaurant description

Boasting British fine dining, the Restaurant at The Ingham Swan, near Norwich, takes pride in its high, yet competitively priced, food quality. Originally a 14th-century coaching inn, the restaurant has retained its pastoral roots with a painstakingly maintained bar and luxurious lodging.

Serving sumptuous, innovative British cuisine, the Restaurant at The Ingham Swan offers menus du jour, a la carte or for Sunday lunch. It proffers mouth-watering choices such as honey-roasted breast of Gressingham duck with roast squash and Chinese cabbage, and baked vanilla cheesecake with mango sorbet and pineapple ravioli.

In the picturesque hamlet of Ingham, The Ingham Swan values its country inn charm, but intertwines this with sleek modern touches. The faithfully restored oak floor also features eye-catching slate tiles, and the rustic flint walls and inglenook fireplaces are carefully balanced with contemporary art and cheerful floral decorations.

Nestled in the rolling North Norfolk countryside, The Ingham Swan is minutes from the sea, and just 25 minutes’ drive from Norwich.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

Excellent meal.Starter Salmon and Mackerel. Main Chicken and too full for pudding. Layout of the restaurant very good with plenty of space around. Staff very attentive and helpful. Go and see them

First meal out after lockdown and given a wonderful welcome by the staff at the Swan. Sanitiser between the outer and inner door was good, but positioning meant if the person in front had failed to use the sanitiser, you then had to touch the door handle that they had just touched to get in. A small point, but perhaps the sanitiser should be beyond the inner door? Tables well spaced. Cutlery already on the table in a clean cloth napkin. Food as excellent as ever. Scallops were wonderful. Lovely Sea Bass and crab risotto. Broccoli perfectly cooked, but cold. Not sure if that was supposed to be. All very enjoyable though.

We went on the Monday after ‘lockdown’ ended. Hygiene and social distancing were well observed, without making a BIG THING about it. Service was courteous, pleasant, relaxed. The food was excellent - definitely a treat to go out for such a good meal after so many weeks of not being able to. The menu of the day is good value. A la carte prices a bit much for us.

Eaten there many times, never disappoints. Back on Thursday. Top notch and reasonable for the quality. All the staff as usual extremely friendly, one of the chefs even brought the dog a bowl of water out. Excellent ????

Everything perfect as usual, love the little extras, good wine lust, friendly staff, water from the fish. Just do not like being seated in the SNUG, especially after lockdown .... Our guests from Clacton were so impressed!

Absolutely delicious lunch, beautiful setting and friendly, helpful waiters. Made my birthday extra special!

We enjoyed our lunch once again, we always come for our birthdays in here and we do like the atmosphere and the food. My only slight criticism is , we sat at table 5 if I can remember right in September for my birthday , and we noticed back then that the table is not level. So if you have any sauces or jus on your plate, this does ruin the presentation of the dish. We sat again at the same table, this time for my husband’s birthday and we sat at the same table , only to remember that the jus in my beef main did the same tsunami. We will be booking again for my birthday next September, and I would love to sit at the same table with the legs level.
