Afternoon Tea in Conservatory excellent as usual. We had a problem with BuyAGift sending incorrect card but staff were very pleasant about it and it has since been resolved.

Myself and my daughters had a cream tea. The setting is lovely in the conservatory, but the cream tea itself fell short. Both the scones and tea cakes were very dry, and disappointing. And the cake selection we mostly ignored as were dry and heavy, which is not really the purpose of going for a cream tea. A real shame.

We had lunch in the conservatory with 4 friends. The tables were so close together the waitress , who was lovely, could not walk round the table to serve properly. The menu was not what we expected from a high class hotel. Limited starters , sausage and mash!!!! , the roast belly was fatty with soggy skin. The closeness of the table to the glass resulted in 3 of the party feeling cold. Having eaten in the last 3 days at Maison Bleue, Northgate Hotel and The Angel and Bill's you came a very low fifth.

Booked in for sparkling afternoon tea, which was thoroughly enjoyed. Would like to see the waitress/waiter dressed in more traditional attire. This would have a dramatic effect on the overall experience.

Lovely location , exceptional service, let down for me by the ambiance of the dining area which was clearly used for breakfast lunch etc and the detritus of this as there were menus stuffed in boxes on the floor and the remnants of lunch and dinner service on the tables around the edges, and likely where breakfast was served from.
Could have been a 5 star but thsi really let it down.

We really enjoyed the ambience and location of the restaurant. The service was very good, polite and friendly and the food was nice with generous amounts of tea!

Service was excellent but sandwiches were very thin on fillings. There was also quite a problem with bluebottles, there was no evidence of any attempt to address this so we spent a lot of time waving our hands around!

Afternoon tea at the ickworth was lovely. The conservatory dining room was beautiful and the food was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful and every effort was made to ensure our two young children were looked after and made to feel welcome. An excellent experience.

When we arrived the staff in the conservatory did not have out booking on their list, as we have booked on line earlier the same morning the booking was not included on the printed list they had, however, it only took a couple of minutes for this to be sorted out and a table prepared for us. Again due to the mix up with the booking the chef was not prepared for two more guests. The waitress that served us explained that there were no scones left but would happily replace these with additional sandwiches and cakes. The service we received was excellent and the replacements were nice. We have been for afternoon tea several times before and were not too disappointed although we did miss the cones and cream.
