Not a very good experience! Food not great and not much choice on the menu. Had a vegetarian with us who did not like veggy options. Would not recommend and definitely not value for money.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with my daughter and niece Setting was beautiful And the themed afternoon tea delightful Our needs were met - one of our party required gluten free and has a severe onion allergy and another no butter on the sandwiches. Would return in the future

The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious. I am vegetarian and was catered for very well, staff were extremely attentive and the conservatory we ate in was beautiful. The disappointment came after our food. We had been given a smart box [voucher] as a wedding gift to enjoy afternoon tea at one of many venues. We chose Ickworth hotel (It was in the brochure) since it was close to home and somewhere we had always wanted to visit. However, when we handed in our [voucher] at the end it wasn't accepted as Ickworth hotel was no longer a venue that took part in the offer... we spend the next 30 mins on the phone trying to sort out what was going on... neither Ickworth or the smart box company took any responsibility. We were totally embarrassed and it ruined a lovely afternoon. However, saying that lesson was learnt and we will book direct with Ickworth in the future. It was a lovely place to visit.

Staff very friendly and service was excellent - Food wise sandwiches very nice (not enough though), carrot cake very poor left strange spicy taste. Chocolate mousse and custard thing in a glass - would not want to try again - not Good !!.Overall considering the price at £25 per head - rating poor - other hotels do a much better afternoon tea for the same price or less.

We went for Afternoon Tea and a key part of this, for me, is the cake! The sandwiches and scones were nice. The pastry had almost no filling, very poor. There was only one small piece of carrot cake per person and two puddings to be eaten with a spoon. One very dense chocolate dessert was so thick and heavy I didn’t finish it, and a very small rhubarb and custard pudding. Where was the cake? A key ingredient of afternoon tea. It was also very expensive. I would not recommend afternoon tea here and I wouldn’t go again.

Unfortunately, I am unable to be positive because sadly there were long waits for every meal, which with three children in 33 degree heat does not make things easy. The waiting staff were slow and with no personality. Food was good but not worth those prices. Very disappointed overall.
