Had a lovely afternoon tea with my friend as it was her 86th birthday treat. I was asked at reception about our tea,but did not like to say anything as my friend was there. Just a couple of things that I was not to pleased with, the use of teabags also we had to ask for clean plates and cutlery to eat our pastries on after eating our canapés. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. We did take a look around your spa and we will consider coming there in the future.

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea at The Spread Eagle, Midhurst. I booked it as a treat for my Mums birthday and she said it was better than her trip to the Ritz. The staff made us feel like kings and queens and the food was delicious. We had a mix of ages from three years to seventy five years who were all wonderfully catered for. We loved sitting in the incredible ancient bar, with the log fires warming us it felt like Shakespeare was going to join us at any minute. The staff were very friendly and talked us through the menu and made sure we had all we needed. Thank you so much.

Came for afternoon tea on Saturday afternoon, 28Jan17. Booked for 3.15pm but arrived 3/4 hour early (as journey didn't take as long as expected). No problem for your restaurant manager. The restaurant itself was charming. All the staff were attentive, but not overwhelming. Sandwiches, cakes, scones, and jam were all home made (I think) and excellent. Chose from a selection of 12 different teas. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience; and really liked the town.

Excellent afternoon tea

I had afternoon tea in the conservatory at the spread eagle hotel. Al in all it was a lovely experience. One unusual feature was that before choosing which tea you wanted to try some samples of all the tea were brought out so you could smell them and chose which one you liked. The food was nice, scones fresh and crumbly and it was all served by a friendly and polite waiter. I'd definitely recommend this to people, having been to afternoon teas and a number of different places this one was a good one and very reasonably priced (especially because I made use of the afternoon tea website and found a 25% off voucher, but even at full price it would still be good value). My only slight negative would be that I got a little warm in the conservatory but there were seats outside on the terrace which we could have chosen.

A lovely visit, would definitely recommend it. The sandwiches are superb.

The experience of Vintage tea was completely spoilt when, on leaving, I was told, insistently, that I owed money (see below)j.

Awonderful afternoon. The staff made us extremely welcome and pleased we were sharing our Diamond Annioversary in the same hotel as our honeymoon 60 years ago.The tea was worth waiting for and the local sparkling wine was a very special to us. If you wish to be pampered the Spread Eagle is the place to go

Hotel was delightful. We had afternoon tea served in the sitting room which had 2 log fires roaring away, making a very welcome feel. The afternoon tea itself was very average and expensive for what it was, 4 finger sandwiches, one scone and a poor choice of cakes - the chocolate cake very heavy and too rich and the fruit cake dry, the lemon cake was okay. Would not recommend for afternoon tea.
