Restaurant description

A 2 AA Rosette-awarded restaurant housed within a luxury Tudor hotel, the restaurant at Seckford Hall presents an elegant, modern dining experience. Named the 1530 Restaurant for its historical heritage, expect exciting, contemporary iterations of traditional favourites.

Stunning presentation in the Seckford Hall restaurant is a leitmotif through classy starters like the velvety chicken liver and foie gras parfait with plum compote, and enticing mains, such as the ‘trio of pork’ with pork chop, twice-cooked belly and black pudding boudin. A cardamom panna cotta with espresso brûlée is among a selection of sophisticated desserts.

Ornately carved wooden panels line the walls of the 1530 Restaurant at Seckford Hall, and are bathed in natural light from tall, latticed windows. The restaurant’s wine list is extensive and features world picks alongside renowned classic champagnes.

The 1530 Restaurant at Seckford Hall is kept company by The Great Hall Champagne and Cocktail Bar and the cosy Snug Bar. Seckford Hall is adjacent to Seckford Hall Golf Club in Woodbridge.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

We enjoyed Seckford Hall very much. It is more expensive than the average restaurant in the area, but in exchange offers excellent service and food in an elegant but cosy environment. We both enjoyed our main dishes - one steak and the other halibut - which were top quality. Very nice place for a romantic evening or special evening out.

We've had a wonderful experience yesterday at the afternoon tea. The venue was absolutely superb for the occasion, entertaining our guests in style. However, the table service did seem a bit rushed with some room for improvement, but nothing major. There was no butter on the table for our scones and we had to ask for more milk and tea to be filled up. Also the table wasn't set properly before we arrived, e.g. there was not enough Christmas crackers for all six guests and there were not enough knives for everyone, too. As I mentioned earlier, it not anything very serious because we would gladly come back again at any time in the future. Overall, a very pleasant afternoon with many sincere thanks to all the staff who worked at this special time of the year, especially when no-one really wants to be working or away from their own families also. Thank you.

Christmas Day Lunch, for three adults and a very excited four year old. Given that this was a first for us in respect of Christmas Lunch somewhere other than in the familiarity of home, this was a very successful event and one I will consider repeating in the future. There were no difficulties on arrival, the dining room had been decorated to suit the season but this was, thankfully, both subtle and elegant. Although the dining room and the restaurant areas were very busy, all appeared smooth and calm, and tables were spaced well to enable a sense of inclusion and occasion whilst allowing comfortable conversation between each group of diners. We were seated quickly at table and found the waiting staff welcoming and warmly attentive without being in the least intrusive. Having pre-ordered our respective courses, our food arrived as required, was beautifully presented, delicious and all elements of each course exactly as described on the menu. I would wholeheartedly recommend Christmas Lunch at Seckford to anyone seeking a welcoming, warm but elegant venue to which they could take their guests: Seckford is a beautiful hotel, the restaurant menu for Christmas, though traditional in style, was made yet more appealing by virtue of some subtle twists from the chef, and I found the the staff to be entirely professional, their manner warm and welcoming. Thank you, Seckford Hall Team.

Yet again, another very enjoyable lunch. The restaurant was very busy but the meal and service was to usual high standard. The menu had a good selection of starter dishes, and main course dishes. Would, however, like to see a little more variety in desert choices. The desert choices were fine but were all 'heavy' and hot. Would like to see some cold and light options in addition such as crème brulee, cheesecake, pavlova or the sweet dishes that used to appear on the sweet trolley.

Really lovely evening, will definitely book again. Meals lovely except beef dish with kale which I found had an off putting taste, may have been personal although friend said the same as me and we couldn't eat it. Felt kids menus could have been a bit more adventurous/appetising -pasta very bland. Lovely service, setting and warm Kind regards Sarah

I advised that one diner had a nut allergy yet cakes all had nuts on. had to request milk and sugar for tea. ordered coffee and no fresh cups bought to the table, had to go looking for them myself as no staff around to ask. no staff asked if we enjoyed or was all ok. all together a poor yet expensive afternoon tea !

Restraurant is a very comfortable experience, the food was very good, I had pumpkin soup very niece and my wife had salmon we both enjoyed. For main we had duck, the meat was a bit tough, the dessert was also very nice, Creme Brûlée and Pineapple upside down cake. The waiting was not very good we were asked if we wanted water and said no yet we still got water? after a long wait we were asked if we had had our mains which we had not.

Food was excellent, staff very helpful and courteous. We obviously chose a very busy night, but didn't expect to have to park in a very muddy area which did nothing for our shoes. We were unable to book a table at our chosen time of 8.00 pm,so had to chose 7.45 pm. We finally received our 1st.course just before 9.00 pm! We were obviously forgotten as other people who arrived after us were served before us. This shows a very large failing on the part of management.,and although we would return we would be very wary.
