Awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, The Restaurant at Seaview Hotel is just 50 yards from the sea, and serves hearty seasonal food in a delightful coastal setting. Head Chef Tom Bull knows how to bring the best out of the abundance of local produce, and does so in an informal yet sophisticated location. The hotel also houses a charming traditional pub, serving classic British food and real ales.
Making the most of its location in a picturesque fishing village, The Seaview restaurant and bar menu specialises in fresh seafood with fish often caught in sight of the hotel. Mainstays of the menu include the inventive combination of pork and monkfish with butternut purée or an authentic soupe de poisson. British bar classics are served in the Pump Bar and Naval Mess where can try the classic beer-battered fish with hand-cut chips and mushy peas, or beef hash with fried egg. Much of the produce comes straight from the hotel’s very own farm, and can be found in the likes of creamed wild mushrooms with toasted brioche and duck egg, and rib-eye steak with crispy shallots and peppercorn sauce.
Renowned for being chic yet charming and unfussy, Seaview Isle of Wight serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, all accompanied by idyllic coastal views. Enjoy one of many local ales in the hotel’s bar, decked out in seafaring paraphernalia.

Five of us had a very good evening meal. The standout dish was the salmon starter - it was melt-in-the-mouth. The brill was also very good and those who had the meat dishes also enjoyed them. One person had the pollock, which was very good, but he wasn't so keen on the lobster bisque with saffron which had a very strong flavour. Three of us had the apple pavlova desert which was delicious, especially the lemon thyme tang.

Six of us dined in the restaurant and we all had a fantastic meal, with quite a variety of dishes between us. Two of us had the cod , two the sea bream and two the pork belly. Each dish had features that were special and contributed to them being very tasty: for instance, the langoustine bisque for the cod. My friend said the pork belly was cooked to perfection. This was true of the starters too: mine, the smoked haddock, had really tasty shredded carrot with cardamon (?). The goats cheese souffle and crab starters were also enjoyed. Most of us were too full for dessert, but a friend and I shared the chocolate pudding with orange sorbet - again, delicious. The service was excellent, attentive but unobtrusive. We have dined here many times over the years and the food has always been good, but this year we felt that there was a marked improvement with these small touches of flavour that just made the dishes.

Always love the Seaview Hotel. It holds such nostalgia for me. I try to make a point of visiting a least once, for lunch, every time I am in the Isle of Wight. Lovely outlook. Generally good food (we ate from the Bar Menu). The staple is the fish and chips which were lovely, though the fish could have done with a few more seconds in the fryer to get it really golden and crispy. My husband had the lamb special which was also great and the pud of raspberry frangipane couldn't be faulted. I think our 3 year old ended up polishing most of it off! Definitely a winner. Thank you for a great lunch as always.

I am sorry to have to say that my meal experience was probably the worst I have ever had. The starter was good which gave hope for the rest of the courses but that was not the case. I ordered a lamb course and though I expected it to be served pink it looked at if it had come to my plate straight from the field completely bypassing any heating process at all. I swapped with my dining companion who had ordered a MEDIUM steak but again I couldn't eat this either as it also oozed blood all over the plate, definitely not cooked as medium. Why wasn't I given a choice of how I would like my meat cooked at ordering. I ate none of it as even the chips were inedible and my dining partner even being a chip lover agreed and couldn't eat them either. I thought I would at least eat the cheese after but it was plonked in front of me with garbled information as to what cheese it was - again I was given no choice. I was given goats cheese, blue cheese(both an acquired taste) and one other that I didn't get the name of but which was very, very strong. Again I didn't eat. So all in all I felt so disappointed especially as the meal was bought as a treat for me and my first outing for months. To be perfectly honest as soon as I left the restaurant I burst into tears due to the disappointment and embarrassment. I did notice that the restaurant was empty, just us two until another couple came in later, which is possibly a sign that I was not alone in my feelings about the food.

Fabulous 3-course special lunch menu with plenty of choice. Delicious fresh produce expertly cooked and superbly finished and presented. The restaurant was bright and beautifully decorated with a refined and contemporary coastal feel. Brian, our waiter was excellent! Gave us personal service without being overly attentive or pushy. Very knowledgeable too and with a great sense of humour. We'll definately be back!

Excellent lunch in the restaurant to celebrate my Mums Birthday yesterday! All the food we had was delicious, compliments to the chef! Thank you for making it so lovely for my Mum, she loved it. Staff & Service were very good too.
