Booked restaurant expecting to be able to have Sunday lunch (roast dinner) only to travel to the restaurant and find that they were not serving their Sunday lunch menu. Instead the only menu available was soup/sandwiches. Given that the booking was for a 70th birthday, this was extremely disappointing so we chose not to stay. We checked the website before we booked including the information relating to Covid and there was no indication that Sunday lunch would not be available.

On this occasion, totally unsatisfactory! Booked for Sunday Lunch. Drove 1hour to Mill End, then discovered that I could only have sandwiches! I do understand that Covid has reduced the number of covers in the restaurant and that you would give precedence to residents. But nowhere on your website or the booking system was I warned that this was the situation. Not good enough!

Booked table for lunch as per website displaying a la carte menus. Arrived to be told restaurant is closed.What a waste of money and time for a 140 mile journey. Had a very poor sandwich as a substitute. Why can’t they be honest and explain their situation. We are all suffering, and reduced services are quite understandable.

Sadly, I got to the restaurant to be told that they do not do non-residents and had no record of my booking. Your website booking system and hotels response were very poor.

We were given a voucher for Christmas for afternoon tea at Mill End which we had to leave until August due to Covid-19 restrictions. After a lovely walk to Fingle Bridge along the River Teign, we returned to Mill End for our tea. It was lovely, sandwiches, cream tea and assorted cakes and a lovely pot of tea (with proper tea leaves and a strainer). A beautiful building both from outside and inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful and coped well with the COVID-19 restrictions of gloves etc. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and think we will do it again in the not too distant future as it is a lovely part of the world and Mill End makes a fantastic place to end a lovely walk.

Warm welcome and a lovely warm and inviting ambience about the place on our arrival. The menu was very tempting with quite a few dishes we liked the sound of. We chose monkfish and pork as mains with crab and scallops for starters. Overall, our meal was delicious with wonderful flavours and we loved the care taken to present our food in such a beautiful way. Everything was cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were lovely and friendly, no pretentiousness, just cheerful, helpful and fun, particularly the middle-aged gentleman with the south-east accent (sorry, didn't catch his name). We will certainly return and are thinking of booking a room and dinner for our wedding anniversary in a few months.

I was given a voucher for my birthday and was thrilled to be going to mill end for a tea. I was very disappointed we were shown in to a lounge and the first thing that greeted us was two large and wet dogs with their owners ,we sat on a large sofa and waited for 30 minutes for our tea. We wern't told what was in the sandwiches which had obviously been prepared in advance and kept in the fridge or what the cakes were . The scones were the best part of the tea they had full marks. No one came to enquire if everything was ok and we had to go looking for someone to ask for more hot water (only small tea pot) and for a drink at the end. I am a local born in Devon and I am afraid it was not up to standard of others in the area. I dont usually comment but you have asked I wouldn't go again or recommend to friends.

This restaurant is fabulous. Never disappoints. Amazing food, great atmosphere and attentive service. Faultless.
