Great menu choice and a good selection of drinks available. The food was excellent and the staff could not be more helpful. If you dine here, you won’t be disappointed.

Was not expecting great food but I soon changed my mind. My steak pie was huge and delicious. Service at dinner and at the great breakfast next morning was super. Yes, the Marine Hotel is undergoing a huge renovation programme and looks unsightly due to all the scaffolding but I would have no hesitation about a return visit when next in Troon.

All the food was amazing, my fiancé had the cajun pulled pork burger with chips and I had the mac and cheese with a side of cajun chips. My 13 month old daughter had a picky plater which had a great selection of different things to eat. The restaurant was cosy but not cramped. The decor was some what rustic which we loved. The staff were very attentive and interacted well with our daughter.

After the wine and water classes were replaced with clean glasses, our dining experience improved. The service was average, waiting staff seemed either bored or disinterested in their work, they weren't unpleasant, just not very interactive and almost sad looking. The food was average and the atmosphere was lacking - as in, there wasn't one. All very functional which is possibly all part of the massive upgrade project that has started and due to finish in August 2020. We intend to revisit before the end of 2020, just to compare the experience and we are optimistic that there will be great improvement. Booking the table on line was straightforward and simple.

Restaurant was nice. However the waiting staff were slow and did not pay attention to our order. Order was mixed up even though we made sure we made sure to mention the butter allergy before booking in online and then mentioned it to the waitress twice we still got the sandwiches with butter. The place was empty and staff didn’t pay much attention to our table. We had to constantly get their attention.

With fabulous views over the gold course and to Arran, it is a real shame the food is no more than average, with a not very inspiring generic menu, low on local produce and freshness. I hope, when the Marine itself is restored, the cuisine will be restored as well. One of the speciality wines (there were only 8 on offer) was not available and we had to go for something about £15 dearer. Restaurant itself (the interior decor) was dated and not really worthy of a hotel of the Marine’s past reputation

The food and service are excellent, but the view of the clubhouse and 18th hole at Royal Troon is the reason that every golfer should eat and stay at the Marine Hotel.
