Fantastic food again, having eaten there the previous night too. Chef personally served 2 of the courses and told us about them. Once again, the food really set the taste buds going. Service was quick. The only negative was the wine La Maglia Rosa Pinot Grigio which was 2015 per the wine list, but turned out to be 2018! Only spotted after we had drank it and paid £32 + service charge for it at the end of the meal. Complained to the waiter who queried it and came back saying the wine list were being updated. Took photos of wine list and bottle to complain when we checked out the next day. The Operations Manager said very little but removed the optional service charges from our bill. Astounded that their was no indication that they considered this unacceptable and wonder if the wine we drank the previous night was also of the year shown on the wine list.

Superb 3 course meal including wine. Tantalized the taste buds. A fantastic eating experience! Service a little slow but gave us more time to relax and enjoy the experience.

Frankly it’s poor. Dinner was the thing that really ruined the stay. It’s just sub standard in every way. Menu is unimaginative and poorly delivered. Bottom line is if even your chips suck.. and I mean the supplement cost truffle and Parmesan chips ... you are skating through the thin ice and sinking fast. Stay at the bear by all means but don’t eat there. Oh... and the wine list... laughable.... if you want to lead with wine I can buy in my supermarket ... that’s fine... but the 500% plus mark up is having a laugh. Needs a reboot and a back to basics start .

Excellent prompt, friendly service. The menu was perfect for our lunch and the food was equally excellent. I have stayed, and eaten, at the Bear in Woodstock before and was most satisfied with everything this time.

We had a lovely lunch sat near an open fire, delightful !

The service was exceptional and the food delicious. We sat in a cosy lounge with a log fire and although we were there for a long time felt no pressure to move or leave. We had booked for afternoon tea but several of the party wanted cooked food, although the kitchen was closed we were able to order from the menu and not made to feel it was too much trouble.

Very dissapointed shan't go there again. The menu show on the website bares no resemblence to the location.

This was an extremely disappointing restaurant. Very expensive- at even half the price it would have been too much. It's a very down at heel place and I wouldn't recommend it at all. The only redeeming features were that the plates were hot and the service was prompt.

1st class service from the meet and great, throughout the meal and the drinks after. The staff were friendly and attentive without making you feel rushed, already looking forward to my return.
