Had a fabulous evening at Red Rooster, Shoreditch celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday. Food was delicious and would highly recommend the corn bread and yard bird. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The live music was the icing on the cake, we all jumped up to dance, including my 80 year old parents. A great evening, enjoyed by all of us.

Red Rooster was a bit out of the way and complicated to get to, but we made it. It was loud and dark. They put us at the quietest table possible, and though it was still noisy, we could then hear each other talk. So that was okay. The cocktails which came with our Book-a-Table menu were too sweet. We weren't warned about the sweetness. First courses, squash soup and burrata salad were good. For mains,my husband got a hamburger that was actually pink in the middle. Usually restaurants serve them well done, even when they promise they'll be rare or medium. Hamburger was delicious. My fried chicken was very good, though there was something too spicy in the dish, which I couldn't identify. Big, big, big problem was the lack of light. We couldn't see our food very well. My husband, who thought the food was great, said he'd never go back, since he couldn't see his food. Sorry.

Atmosphere was excellent, extremely friendly staff, food was served very quickly, starters was great & tasty, main course was a bit bland considering it’s soul food, dessert was good but nothing special. Had live entertainment which was amazing, added to the atmosphere as was a R&B band, totally amazing. Waitress was very on point & took care of our every need. Overall great nite out with my wife for her birthday but slightly disappointed about the food. Would go back though but mainly for the ambiance
