Located in Wendover, the Red Lion Hotel is a beautifully transformed 16th century coaching inn. The warm interior with wooden beams and a fireplace bring in a rustic feel and the small outdoor space is a great spot to enjoy a drink in summer.

Spanning from salads and juicy burgers to piping-hot, stuffed-full pies, the Red Lion Hotel menu is lovingly prepared by the talented resident chefs. Ingredients are sourced from across the British Isles, and meats and daily-fresh fish catches can be traced back directly to sustainable, trusted suppliers. Choose from dishes including seared hanger steak or pork & leek sausages & mash.

The Red Lion Hotel pub also presents a renowned drinks list, featuring award-winning ales including Fuller’s most well-known brew, London Pride. Fine wines, premium spirits and soft drinks are also on offer.

Celebrate eclectic British flavours at this quiet countryside venue. The Red Lion Hotel Aylesbury is a 6-minute walk from Wendover Rail Station.

We arrived for a revised booking at 8:30. Promptly ordered and at that time we were not informed that the kitchen closed at 9 pm. We were entertaining some overseas business clients so a good impression was paramount. Our starters and main courses were very nice. Lacking vegetables. However the desserts not so. The pear in pastry: pastry piping hot having been overheated in a microwave and as a consequence inedible. Chocolate dessert with pastry base: pastry base was impossible to cut. Chocolate fondant very thick and stuck to the roof of my mouth.
We were informed that there was no cheese available and the coffee machine was closed as it was past 9:00 pm. One of our clients made a comment regarding the closure of the machine and a very rude young man serving the drinks said 'can see you have had too much to drink sir'. Fortunately the rest of our party did not appear to have heard his unacceptable comment.
He then proceeded to shout across our table to the waitress who was by the kitchen.
Beautiful location just a shame certain staff and food do not match up.
