Offer exclusively on weekends.
From much-celebrated chef Francesco Mazzei, Radici is an authentic Italian trattoria in Islington. Translating as ‘roots,’ Radici reflects the Calabrian cuisine of Francesco’s heritage, as well as incorporating dishes from across Italy.
Offering a carefully selected range of charcuterie and cheese, the ever-evolving Radici menu also features many of Francesco’s favourite dishes from his homeland. Tuck into the likes of salt cod with potatoes and tomato sauce, eggless pasta with southern Italian lamb, pork and beef ragu, and calf liver stuffed with pancetta, garlic and sage, served with smoked potato mash.
From the traditional wood-fired oven in the heart of the trattoria come fresh pizzas and bread, whilst a feasting menu is on offer every Sunday.
A charming hidden gem, Radici in London is found 10 minutes' walk from Highbury & Islington and Angel Tube stations.

Occasion was for my daughter and my recent birthday cerebration, and recovery from her operation. We had pre theatre menu as we both enjoyed previously that after the visit to Sadllers well. We thoroughly enjoyed not only the food but lively summery happy evening, too. Staffs are so warm and friendly, making our day very special. We would love to come back soon again.

Slow service, the mackerel was not charred as described but instead had slimy soft skin. Aubergine fritters were good, we enjoyed the Sicilian rose wine, and had no complaints about the bread and olives. Also, it’s a very noisy restaurant - it would benefit from acoustic panels on the walls and foam dampeners under the chairs and tables.

We have been to there for a couple of occasions with our toddler. The staff are very helpful and attentive. Food are good and kids menu is of very good value. The pasta was delicious too! Zucchini fries is a must.

I've been to this place 4 or 5 times before and its always been a satisfying experience but this time was a significant disappointment. The recipes for the dishes were the same but they were all prepared apathetically - including their usually wonderful pizza bread which was more gummy than crispy. The Veal lacked any sort of enthusiastic spice, the barata was dull and sticky. Additionally, our server had that knack of always interrupting our conversation and would not be dissuaded from giving us whatever information she wished to impart almost to the point of rudeness . I'd've been more sympathetic if the place were crowded but it wasn't. We won't be heading back there anytime soon. It's a shame because we thought it was a great addition to our neighborhood resturant-going.
