We enjoyed our Sunday lunch here very much; the portions were very good as was the quality of the meat, the roast potatoes and selection of vegetables. The beer and wine were both good too and the service was professional but very charming and friendly. The cost was reasonable.

Had the burger and it was quite greasy and tasteless.

Overall very pleased we've been several times now. Only one criticism and that's that one of our party chose Kalamari and the batter was said to be like a doughnut mix which was not good. Everything else was great though. So we hope to return in the future.

Very comfortable and intimate bar area adjacent to the dining room. Dining room tastefully decorated. Waiting staff very attentive and friendly. The bar area was very busy as a wedding had been held that day so a little noisy on this occasion. The food was generally excellent, starter and sweet were top class but the main (we both had the steak and ale pie off the specials board) was not quite as impressive.

We were disappointed on this occasion. We only come for a special celebration normally. This time was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We found there was nobody else eating lunch, which did not help the atmosphere. We were also pestered with flies. The steak was good and nice having lovely gluten free bread but wife disappointed in the burger. Restaurant put themselves out to supply gluten free meal. The texture of the burger was very dense and it lacked flavour. She could not eat it all. I would have liked some vegetables and the chips were not very nice. We were going to order coffee but as nobody came and asked us even though we waited, so we decided not to bother and had some later.

Exceptional food. Great location and wonderful staff. The mushrooms and roast garlic bruschetta was simply the best I'd eaten anywhere. Cumberland sausage ring was huge! Although once again it tasted delicious just couldnt eat it all. Perfect night.

My wife's birthday meal.the dining area was very quiet, thought for a while we were going to be the only diners finally got two more tables arrive. However we were far from alone as a wedding reception (I believe now aka breakfast!) was on going which spilled out into the small adjacent bar and became VERY noisy with an already tanked-up guest spoiling any hope of a cosy intimate meal! the menu was very 'safe' nothing to get adventurous with. the quality was on the whole good ( avoid the Brushetta) the service was friendly, a bit too attentive as to whether we were alright for drink.
For an average run of the mill meal it was ok ,for a special, no way!
