Restaurant description

With iconic status on the capital's restaurant scene, Quaglino's has offered brasserie dining in London since 1929. Nuno Goncalve's contemporary European menu uses the highest-quality British ingredients, and is served against a backdrop of glamorous décor and live jazz.

The Quaglino's menu is fittingly sophisticated, with dishes such as roasted stone bass with pomme mousseline, foraged sea herbs and Champagne beurre blanc epitomising the restaurant's penchant for the luxurious. More simple classics also feature, including chargrilled Chateaubriand with chestnut mushroom persillade, bordelaise & béarnaise or wild mushroom & autumn truffle risotto with pickled walnut, aged parmesan and fine herbs.

An extravagant venue, Quaglino's has two bars: a central cocktail bar in the main dining room and a mezzanine bar overlooking the restaurant below. Both serve classic cocktails and boast a wine list of over 300 varieties. The restaurant is also renowned for live music, transforming Quaglino's into a late-night party spot.

Located in well-heeled Mayfair, Quaglino’s restaurant is a 4-minute walk from Green Park Tube Station and an 8-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

We visited Quaglino’s for lunch on their offer of 3 courses with a glass of champagne. On entering the restaurant we received a warm greeting and were shown to our table. The restaurant looks wonderful from the top of the stairs leading down to the tables. The service was professional yet friendly and the food was outstanding. My wife had the chicken breast with pommes mousseleine whilst I had the salmon with mussels and foam ....... wow! We enjoyed all courses and the champagne and wine too, the Albariño was a great tasting example. We would love to return here particularly to one of the live music evenings and would both recommend quaglino’s highly.

Freezing cold restaurant...in August! my complaint shrugged away. On receiving our bill we were asked to wait while the waiter counted out our cash payment at the table. I know cash is unusual these days but this was so rude.

Warm reception and well attended by staff. However music and atmosphere too “in your face”, more suitable for a cruise than Quaglino’s intimate piano bar reputation. Food portions were tiny, my main was insipid- small piece of salmon swimming on a tasteless froth.

Decor wise the restaurant was a sheer delight and the staff were charming.. However we were practically the only ones there which left no atmosphere and the service was terribly slow, This aside the food was well worth waiting for. Would go again mainly for the food but probably in the evening when I suspect the restaurant would be fuller.

Dining amidst live music is special. Three course meal was superb and great value for money. Ambience was great and also loved the service rendered by waiters.
