Situated in a Victorian redbrick building, Michelin-starred Purnell’s restaurant in Birmingham is a chic and contemporary dining space. Seamlessly fusing the heritage of its residence with modern accents in the dining room, the stylish restaurant space is flooded with natural light from the classically-Victorian arched windows.

With the living room restaurant space dedicated to sociable and relaxed fine dining, the Purnell’s menu offers a variety of inventive ‘Brummie tapas’ dishes, ideal for sharing. Sample dishes include spiced potato and lime croquettes with duck egg mayonnaise, and neck of lamb with capers and basil emulsion.

A selection of tasting menus are also available at the West Midlands restaurant, offering dishes such as tail fillet of beef rolled in liquorice charcoal, and waffles with foie gras butter with crispy chicken skin. A classic 3 or 5-course lunch menu offers contemporary British cuisine, such as duck breast with apple and celeriac puree, and roasted plaice with confit tomato and pickled shallots.

Offering informal fine dining and Michelin-starred cuisine, Purnell’s in Birmingham sits 6 minutes’ walk from Snow Hill train station. Diners are required to be of smart casual attire.

    The most amazing night, food and wine ever. A truly amazing experience. Even got to meet the Chef, Glynn Purnell and have a photo and gift of his book for my birthday. Totally star struck and would highly recommend.

    Engaging and enthusiastic front of house combined with a relaxing and comfortable (and safe) dining experience. The food was superb especially the main courses (Pork) and the wine recommendations totally on point. We particularly appreciated the engagement with Glynn at the end of the evening. Overall, it was a superb and memorable dining experience - which we will be repeating. Thanks to all the team at Purnell’s.

    Wonderful experience and the food as usual was sublime. The fantastic service is nothing to be sniffed at either. We made the most of the September Wednesday menu and that should be a regular feature to entice new customers back.
