Excellent service from the second we walked in the door until the taxi arrived 4.5 hours later. Very accommodating adjusting the menu to suit my wife's not liking scallops. Attention to detail is perfect

From arriving at the restaurant the service, welcome and explanation of the menu and about the food and drink were spot on and the lovely afternoon started there. From being sat in the restaurant and finally onto our last course it was phenomenal, everything came in a great time, the explanation and staff were second to non and the staff were all very clear and talented. It was amazing meet Gyln Purnell after the meal to talk about the restaurant, food and about the cooking industry. Food was 10/10, service - 10/10 and everything was amazing. Will definitely be going back.

Our lunch experience at Purnells has again been absolutely sublime. Faultless service, friendly staff and very attentive without being claustrophobic. The food again was gorgeous but the stand out dish of the day was the slow cooked daube of beef, which both my partner and me both said we wished there was more of! Thank you for another very memorable birthday!

A fabulous way to celebrate my wife’s 50th Birthday. Food was outstanding and it was lovely to meet Glynn himself who gave us time for a chat and a photo on a busy Saturday evening. Thank you

5 course tasting menu exceptional as on our previous visit. Green tomato sorbet was wonderful. Only part of a dish that disappointed was the Brixham cod but smoked eel and pickled beetroot made a perfect plate (but as we had just been enjoying the seafood in Newcastle and Edinburgh it had strong competition). The sauces that accompany the dishes are plentiful and served at the table The menu descriptions make the dishes sound simple but the cooking and presentation are highly sophisticated
