In a majestic building steeped in literary history, The Printing Press serves up the best of the Scottish larder, on Edinburgh’s well-heeled George Street. The varied menu is available all day, with a late-night bar serving drinks and bar bites until the early hours.
Hand-picking produce from some of Scotland’s finest suppliers, The Printing Press menu features rustic classics including smoked haggis, puréed neeps and crispy potato, as well as craft ale-battered day boat fish and chips, along with modern Scottish cooking such as slow-braised Huntingdon Farm lamb breast with celeriac gratin, charred hispi cabbage and gremolata. A range of steak cuts, from grass-fed Tweed Valley Scotch beef, aged for a minimum of 28 days sizzle on the josper grill, all served with chips and a variety of sauces.
Be tempted by classic and contemporary desserts including pumpkin cheesecake with rum and raisin ice cream, or baked Alaska with chocolate ice cream. A children’s menu is also available at The Printing Press in Edinburgh.
Acclaimed chef Colin Fleming heads the kitchen at The Printing Press, bringing a wealth of expertise honed at some of Scotland’s best restaurants. Edinburgh Waverley Station is just a 7-minute walk away.

Good food, and good vibe. However very disappointed that the January wine offer was not as expected ie upto £40 off wine - turned out to be off a separate wine list, which included only one type of red, which wasn't to our liking - so we had to pay full price, and even then several wines were out of stock. Somewhat misleading - thus definitely took the edge off the experience ??

Excellent service on both evenings. On the second evening we needed to change the time of our reservation. This was not a problem. Food was of the highest quality- the fish was so fresh and the pheasant was tender and incorporated a superb combination of flavours.
