A range of steak cuts, from grass-fed Tweed Valley Scotch beef, aged for a minimum of 28 days sizzle on the josper grill, all served with chips and a variety of sauces.
Be tempted by classic and contemporary desserts including pumpkin cheesecake with rum and raisin ice cream, or baked Alaska with chocolate ice cream. A children’s menu is also available at The Printing Press in Edinburgh.
Acclaimed chef Colin Fleming heads the kitchen at The Printing Press, bringing a wealth of expertise honed at some of Scotland’s best restaurants. Edinburgh Waverley Station is just a 7-minute walk away.

First visit. Our waiter was lovely. The food, I had the mackerel which was ok but the potatos were undercooked. We ordered a bottle of red wine but we were optimistic that we would finish bottle before we had to leave. Edinburgh festival time and we had a show booked. There was more than half a bottle of wine left and we asked if we could take it with us. The answer was an emphatic NO! Company policy would no allow unless we were staying in the hotel! Needless to say I was not impressed. I did not make a fuss but after some time the lady in charge decided to only charge us with two glasses (large). I wonder what happened to the wine we did not drink. Was it then sold on in single glass charge? Personally I will not be back at the Printing Press. On reflection we maybe should have allowed more time for our meal and maybe not ordered a full bottle!

Really smart and stylish place, friendly staff - we had the express menu and the food was fine but not out of this world - slightly disappointed with the cheese board

We chose this as a pre-theatre option as the menu had plenty choice for all, including vegetarian.

My Mum, sisters and I enjoyed afternoon tea. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We weren't rushed and the food was lovely. Look forward to returning for lunch or dinner next time. Would highly recommend to friends.

We arrived a little early for our booking but this was not a problem . The staff were very professional and very helpful .There when you wanted something and not hanging about hoping to upsell when you didn't need them around . The bar , which I could see from where I sat was very well stocked with a variety of drinks and the bar staff never seemed to stop working . We both really enjoyed our meal and would definitely eat there next time we are in Edinburgh .

Excellent service and very nice setting. Felt there could have been more of a choice of sandwiches however as they were limited. One of our group did not like smoked salmon and was only offered ham. Fillings in sandwiches were poor. Cakes and stones were lovely and a good choice available.

Beautiful food. Service friendly but a tiny bit stretched so you had to wait to make eye contact to get someone.

Food was first class. Tables well spaced out, nice cool temperature and service attentive. Definately will revisit. Thought wine a bit over priced. 42 pounds for a bottle of Malbec??
