Well, it was busy, which is kind of what we expected on a Saturday evening in December. Everyone was lovely, but unfortunately, they a) forgot to bring my daughter's starter and had to be reminded twice b) forgot to bring my main course and c) forgot to bring my daughter's dessert. After I reminded the poor waitress she brought by pasta after the rest of the family had finished (eaten enough...) of theirs. She did give me a 100% discount for that course, so credit to her for that. The trouble is, when these kind of errors are made, the meal time conversation goes from a reflection of a lovely day to a discussion about 'when the pasta will come', which kind of spoils the evening. Fortunately, we were paying in Tesco Clubcard Vouchers so it wasn't quite so painful. It was just a shame.

I had booked a table for 4 at 18.00 and arrived at the restaurant about 5 minutes early. The person I think was the manageress checked the booking and showed us to a table. The table was extremely close to the one adjacent, but we managed to pull the table away so not a problem. We were asked if we would like to order drinks and we asked for glasses of tap water. We all looked at the menu and having seen pizza's on the way in, all decided to order pizza's. The waitress came back with the iced water and we all ordered large pizza's. The pizza's arrived on wooden boards and it was then we discovered that it was the classic's pizza's we had seen on the way in and not the large ones we had ordered. The waitress asked if we wanted anything else and we asked for Parmesan cheese and another glass of water. As soon as we started to cut the pizza's we realised that they were burnt and very crisp a bit like water biscuits.
Not wanting to cause a fuss we started to eat them, then when the waitress came back with the water, I mentioned that they were a bit crisp and she immediately said do you want me to change them. After a bit of discussion amongst ourselves we said yes. Then the manageress came over and said which ones do you want changed. We selected 2 of them and the pizza's were taken away and replaced with 2 perfectly cooked pizza's.
Although we did not like to say anything in case of an upset, we found all of the staff including the manageress to be extremely courteous and helpful both before and after the complaint.
To summarise we found our visit to the restaurant very pleasant and enjoyable. -

I booked a table for 12 people. We were not keen on sitting downstairs at North Audley Street. There was some napkins on the floor behind our seat which may of been used to mop up some spillage. There was some complaints regarding the food, not enough meat on the Spaghetti Carbonara, chicken dish was cold on the edge of the plate. Overall this was a poor experience at Prezzo. Unfortunately none of the party will be returning. Also there was no birthday surprise as mentioned in the special conditions.
