Featuring in both the Michelin Guide and the Good Food Guide, Prevost showcases wonderfully imaginative British recipes in the heart of Peterborough's Priestgate area. Set inside a charming 16th-century mews, this is a chic space without the pretentiousness, and offers diners an exciting slice of modern dining in an historic setting.
The Prevost menu focuses on the finest seasonal flavours available at the time, and uses wild mushrooms from local woods, artichokes from the restaurant's own allotment. Inventive starters feature recipes like carrot, fermented black garlic and nasturtium, moving on to hearty mains such as shin of beef with shallot and horseradish mash. Diners can also complement their meals with a flight of wine.
Artisan British cheeses are a popular way to close at Prevost in Peterborough, with other British flavours also featuring on the dessert menu, including Yorkshire rhubarb and Grand Marnier soufflé.
Crafting exciting recipes that showcase the best produce that the UK has to offer, Prevost is an 8-minute walk walk from Peterborough Rail Station.

This was a wonderful dining experience. A relaxed ambience in a well appointed restaurant. The food was exquisite - all of it. We had the flight of wines - they were all perfectly matched. We had a brilliant time and will be back again on another special occasion.

My 2nd lunchtime visit to Prevost - and a luxurious fine dining experience which left me in a blissful state of contentment.
My hubby and i both opted for the 32.50 three course lunch so he could have the venison and i could have the fish.
Pre starter snacks included scallop tartare which evaporated in the mouth, helped on their way with the first of the accompanying flight of wines ( home counties English champagne!)
Chervil Root soup was sweet and deeply creamy and worked well with a fairly full bodied Riesling.
Hubby's venison came on a bed of Puy lentils and disappeared eithin moments. I had been looking forward to the Turbot - but to be frank couldn't have cared less whether it was on the plate or not once I'd discovered the symphony of delights nestling underneath .... tiny confit potatoes ... delicate sauce .... charred onions - the fact that the fish just HAPPENED to have been cooked to perfection as well became a side issue. The Sommelier came up trumps with an Argentinian Chardonnay as the accompanying wine.
Dessert was a delightful combination of textures of Rhubarb from tiny almost frozen cubes to a mousse and air dried slivers of rhubarb which werr almost crisp like in texture. The dessert wine was heavenly and by now I'd forgotten where it was from. We opted to share a £12 cheeseboard as the perfect way to end the meal - ther is plenty here for 2 cheese fans - do NOT order one per person!
Everything I've eaten since lunch on Saturday has seemed pretty pointless to be honest - why can't ALL food be like this?
A tip if you are booking - DO pay extra for the flight of wines to accompany your meal - it's a worthwhile investment that showcases each course perfectly - and you make some interesting discoveries too...... English champagne? ?

Very Good food; service slow to start with and not sure booking details translated into service but ended up excellent.

This is the fourth time we have visited and it gets better each time. My partner visits from the states and its the only place she insists on visiting. We always choose the 5 course menu and love its variety and flavours. This time we even had a free extra dish which was the amazing souffle. Keep up the excellent work and great to see the restaurant thriving.

A very enjoyable evening and great way to spend New Year's Eve. The evening was enhanced by the live music which gave a relaxed atmosphere. As usual the dishes where both interesting and enjoyable. Not certain about the beetroot and groats curd, needed more goats curse flavour
